I actually think they are getting things right at Salford.
Ok, we are envious of the cash that Dr K has, but yesterdays crowd was a great effort from a club that was managing 2500-3000 last season.
There were plenty of families with kids going to the game yesterday, which bodes well for them in future.
The mascot does look a bit sinister though, not exactly child friendly !

They were probably helped by our second half rally, because they will have gone away watching a competitive game and so enjoyed it more, and next up they have Saints, who will be entertaining and will take a big noisy following.

Absolutely disgraceful comment.
It's good that wasn't the attitude of the fans and staff of Salford that stayed behind to watch the academy game when young Declan Brereton looked very seriously injured. Glad to say I heard he was released from hospital this morning.

| I thought it was a decent run out for us all things considered - would have been happy before the game if somebody had told me that we would be within a handful of points at the end of the game, but the fact is we could (and SHOULD) have won that game with the second half performance. We had more than our fair share of possession and created a number of chances that we should have been good enough to finish like Salford did in the first half.
Overall, plenty to be positive about on the performance if you ignore the scoreline. McShane showed how good he is and was probably the best player on the park, Godinet showed up very well and so did Tauti. Wingers should really be catching those balls - I counted at last 2 dolly's that were dropped with the line begging. We aren't going to get many clear cut chances against the better teams
Overall, after we weathered the predictable early storm from Salford we played very well in the second half right up until the last pass/catch on a few occasions, and out of the 2 coaches Agar will be much, much more pleased than Noble.

plus it's not as if every player in our squad have never played together before? Smith, Gleeson, Hock, Hansen,
Have all played together, Puletua and Meli have played together for years, Morley and Chase have played together for England as has Hock, I've seen the team play, al be it in terrible conditions we went good, no one looked out of place and some great plays from smith and Chase."[/i]
And this was you on arguably the best player today"Godinet hasn't even played a single game for you guys, he's only had 4 training sessions, if you think your going to see miricles from him your going to be let down."[/i
Your pack looked old and battered in the second half. Out of the two teams, I reckon Wakey will feel the best. Three of our key players, including our stand out player, only got off a plane this week.'"
3 Months, are we sure about that?

| Well done to Wakefield yesterday. Only came down to 2 missed conversions and was a game that could have gone either way in the end. Thought Paul McShane was the best player on the park by a country mile. I think its fair to say that in the first 20-25 minutes our forwards completely dominated with Morley and Tasi, In fact you didn't get into our half in the first 15 minutes. But what killed us wasn't the loss of Rangi, but the movement of Tommy Lee to half back. With Howarth at dummy half, the distribution to the half backs slowed completely.
On the subject of Rangi, having seen the replay of the incident, he tripped over Collis trying to get back, and fell into Fox, tripping him up, and injuring himself in the process. Wasn't a deliberate trip at all, just an unfortunate collision resulting in the injuring of one of our key players.
2nd half was a completely different story. We just couldn't get the ball which resulted in giving away penalties, giving you more possession, then gifting you a try (Godinet interception). You noticeably changed your game plan attacking our edges getting at Smith and Walton on one side, and Sa'u on the other. Full credit to your coaching staff for this.
Overall an enjoyable game, both teams have areas to improve on, but a great turnout from both sets of supporters. Good luck for the rest of the season. Can see you competing for a top 8 finish on that display.

| My two pen'orth:
FWIW (and on my one and only viewing) I think Chase did appear to raise his leg(s) as he was falling, ensuring that Fox ran in to them. You could argue though that you got a better deal than Chase being sent off, as we replaced him with Howarth...
As regards Agar being the happier of the two coaches, this should clear that one up:
"I am absolutely delighted with the win and delighted with the day" - Brain Noble
"I'll be going home disappointed " - Richard Agar
Great to see so many fans from Wakefield. It was our biggest crowd at the stadium and as far as I'm concerned the only time we have had any sort of atmosphere.
Please don't go away with the impression that we think we are genuine trophy contenders (you will always get a couple of big mouths creating the wrong impression). We are just happy to have a team to support, and one who actually looks like it may be worth supporting. Sometimes, some people get a bit carried away with themselves.
Best of luck for the season ahead.

I would agree with you if it were any other player in SL, the overwhelming majority of players play hard and deserve huge respect, including I guess Declan. I cannot think of anyone else who intentionally goes out to attack other players. A nasty piece of work who deserves what he gets.
I am sorry if my opinion offends you, but I would personally rather see his career ended before he ends that of one of a decent person, which can only be a matter of time.

Thanks for your honesty.
He did raise his legs as he was going to ground which caused him to have to leave the field and probably cost us a try.
Only Chase himself knows if he was trying to trip Fox, so we will never know.
It does look as though Koucash has started something of a revolution but, it will take plenty of time and breaking into the top 4 is going to be far more difficult than he is perhaps expecting,
Certainly, plenty of cash, plus ambition will get you over the first couple of hurdles but, Wigan, Wire, Saints & Leeds aen't just going to disappear so Dr K may need something that he hasn't displayed yet, patience.

| Personally like Salford and their supporters. They deserve some success and in Dr Koukash they have a passionate and well driven leader. I listened to him talk after the game yesterday and he was obviously over the moon with the win but also very complimentary towards MC and Wakefield.
Chase didn't deliberately trip Fox, he fell over and they collided, it happens. Personally I thought yesterday was a brilliant way to open the season. Over 7k, with a large away following. The game could have gone either way and it's great to see Salford fans optimistic about the season in a cracking stadium. Hopefully NM will help us in a similar fashion.

| I wouldn't wish a serious injury on anyone, even Chase, but it's very hard to find any sympathy for him.
Apart from his trip he got away with two swinging arms to the head right in front of the Trinity fans, the players remonstrated quite openly with Child after one of them.

This. I like Salford, always seen them as a bit like us but on the wrong side of the hills (surrounded by bigger/wealthier clubs but always manage to stand their corner) Nice to see them on the up for once.
