What I'm saying is that although the list looks big, if two are retiring that isn't anything to do with us.
Dave we tried to keep, and get his brother. Both Willie and Dave have said that.
Tom of course it would be good to keep but we have a pretty good replacement and we need to have players on the field.

So it doesn't strike me that the club is trying to reduce things. Most are just timing for those players.

Miller is the only one I have any kind of grievance with, as he's going to Cas. He must know that's a big deal to Wakefield fans. So although he of course needs to look after his family, if he goes to Cas, his reception at Belle Vue isn't going to be good.....whereas I think Tom will get a great reception.

Pop Tart think most fans know T J leaving Wakefield is the best for him playing for us as held him back big time .Think been at a club with a bigger squad should keep T J fitter .You can not say he as not given a lot to Wakefield .Miller going to Cas not to botherd give a lot to the club and as loads of undeserved stick from fans

You just know what chants Miller will get next year ‘You Cas B…….’. It’s all part and parcel of the game. I think if everyone of those fans person to person met Miller they would be full of admiration for him. He’s got to do what’s right, his kids will be in local schools, travel time… etc, he needed to stay local. I have no grievance with Miller and respect his decision, I’ll be joining in on the chants though

I do agree about the family stuff. If it makes a financial difference to him then fair enough. But I don't like it simple as that.
I won't be chanting.
But I do hope he only ever wins one Cas Derby in his career.

Incidentally, on the discussion about where we spend the money freed up from transfers....
Max, Murphy, Hall and Kershaw are all off contract at the end of next season.
I'd say its a priority to look at those contracts.

I agree about all the players apart from Max, do you see him as the future of improving the squad? Only reason I’m saying this and this isn’t a dig at Max, Shaul has been very good for us, I think he has the edge over Max, again just my opinion, but he’s obviously older. With the fullback being such a pivotal position, would you look to bring someone else in or are you happy with MJ

Isnt shaul quote a bit older than MJ?
I’d keep both as I too like Shaul but MJ’s been very loyal to Wakefield and conversely i do see him as part of our long term plans - just my opinion of course!

Well to be honest I would.
I've always been a fan of Max, and chose him over Hampshire but Shaul's involvement shows us what we are missing too.
Organising the defense and giving energy to the team is vital and is the flaw in Jowitt's game
In terms of confidence under the high ball and backing up through the middle, I'm not sure there's many better than Max in Super League.
So I'd only replace if it was a top notch player, but I would if we found one. (Or at least keep Max as backup if he was OK with that.

Don't forget Max's kick's goals and for me that's massive getting the extra 2 over, Shaul has been good and there's nothing wrong with having 2 good FB in the squad.

In terms of Shaul I really like him.
I'm thinking contract might be big though and he doesn't seem to have his blistering pace back yet.
