On a plus I think Hall looks ready for a first team spot already.'"
One of the few shiny sweetcorns in a lacklustre toilet of a performance was Corey.

| Quote: Trojan Horse "Koppy was let go at the right time. He wasn’t as effective as I expected at wakey and the championship is his level now.
We do need a player with his size though. We lack another monster in the front row. It’s a position that’s been hard to fill not just for wakey though.'"
The performance that Kopczak produced today is something I didn't see from him in two seasons at Wakefield. He was used as a ball handling prop and most of the time he passed out of the back like an extra half back and it caused us problems. To round it off he managed to carry four over the line with him which I also never saw him replicate in a Wakefield shirt. I actually thought for the amount of field position they had our defence held up quite well in our own twenty. I'm not too concerned as it was a friendly and I think another eighty minutes will do the players good. Does anyone else think we need an extra friendly though? Seems odd to be to only have in reality two friendlies with first team players involved and then a three week gap until our first Super League fixture?

| I alluded to our forward prowess/power on here recently and was told by more than one on here that we are fine in that department, well after our forwards were shown the way today by so called (has been’s ) of super league I think I’ve vindicated my concerns with moors and lefao making yards at will in the game .Time and time again we were rolled down the field on the back of their pack and an energetic back line . Not good enough in a friendly and certainly not good enough for a team I’m hoping will be mid table come the end of season . Positives out of today’s game for me were no obvious injuries and a good solid hit out whilst also there is still time to iron the flaws in our attack/defence out .Having watched HKR dismantle Dewsbury with consummate ease on fri night IMO we are way off the pace and power that’s needed on today’s showing ,and yes Fev are a much harder nut to crack than the Rams ,but we are just not on the money at present with just a few weeks to go until the serious stuff begins.

| Being a lifetime Trinity fan teaches you. Couple of things... whenever you look at a fixture and a team sheet and think ... that looks good I’m really looking forward to this... it turns out bad.... whenever you think ... oh I’m really worried about this ... it turns out ok!
Up the trinity!

I think batch is the one who could cover prop with most effect when we need to play players out of postion

| I suspect Liam Hood may be having a trip to the disciplinary with the sin binning for the late hit. I think he may not be available for the Hull game.

Looked to be blowing out of his derrière to me in the game ,and struggled at times to get back in line ,early days I suppose and plenty to work on .

| Jowitt, Johnstone and Fifita looked like they wanted to win the game. Expected a bit more from Lyne.
Miller just killed virtually every move he got involved in including a few where Les Tonks could have gone through the gap but he turned back and threw out another hospital pass.
Arona's performance was not one of his best.
Typical and predictably poor show that gave the large Wakey following a depressing 80 minutes.

Would certainly not be short of enthusiasm and would run into a brick wall repeatedly for wakey of asked I suspect. We have a number of capable props though.
Plenty of time to fix things up for round one.

| We lost by 4pts after gifting them 3 tries and a sin bin in the 1st half which they scored from.
Not the end of the world, but need to improve......

| Not a good day at the office and I was really underwhelmed watching it. Our attack seemed non existent and apart from one crafted try we relied on broken play.
I thought Kopczak was good for Fev today and agree with another users post (Adam) that we never saw him play like that for Trin. I think we have become over reliant on our Props as ball handlers. Sometimes it’s so predictable that they are going to pass and the ball speed is generally slow. Arona used to be great in this area but his reaction time seems to have dipped a little. Koppy was good today because he ran hard and direct. We don’t have a big Prop who simply runs hard and straight. Fifita is our go to man but he needs help. I still think there is room for the old fashioned Prop in today’s game and I think we miss the likes of England. Huby left the biggest void as he could run hard but could also pop an offload and generate some second phase rugby.
It’s only my opinion but I’d like us to start using our halfbacks in conjunction together in attacking plays rather than having our halves split. I remember Finn/Williams would often get in the middle (just off the ruck) to start a move and have Miller/Grix running off the back of them and the ball was moved a lot quicker. I think Walker passes as well as Miller/Lino so when all 3 are fit I’d play them all.
Today was disappointing, I expected Fev to be up for it but I was shocked at how many tackles they were riding and bouncing out of. There was a lot of arm grabbing too.
I’m hoping we start playing a bit more direct and use our Props as Props a bit more.

Do we?
we have a couple of out and out props and a few who will play there to the best of their ability,
Just my opinion. of course, but I think we need another powerhouse prop not a willing horse.
