Even though I dd enter the debate about who's better than who, like I said in my first post, it's so hard to compare players from different teams, just down to the human part of it objectivity, plus how the team sets it's self up, the structures they play under and the jobs each player has been given. Which might not get the best out of then perosnally, but it's for the teams greater good.

Anyway, win or lose I just hope we have a real close local derby. Where both teams bring their A games and we see some of the games better players show exactly why they're that. Forwads smashing into each other and the halves and the backs, produce soome scintillating RL. Hopefully of couse we just pinch it.



PS, love the word Synergy and describes RL very well at times.

I would say they're probably playing the best brand of attacking rugby since the last great Saints side of around 2006, which is a refreshing change to Michael Maguire/Shaun Wane style rugby and makes it slightly easier to stomach the fact that they're currently favourites to win the league (thankfully I don't think they will though).

If you want to have 5 year old spats do it by PM. It's pretty boring for the rest of us.

As for Hardaker he looks like he has added to his game to me.
Leeds played out from deep with the running wingers but Cas are different and Hardaker has changed his game accordingly. He has a bit of Dorn's game in him now which makes him more of a team player.
Dangerous to us and needs stopping if we are to have a chance of winning.

Grix isn't dangerous to them in the same way but he is important enough to our team to allow the team to be dangerous.
Each suits their team well.

I would agree they've played the most open brand of rugby in the past couple of years, but Hudds when they won LLS in 2013 and Warrington when they were spanking everyone left right and centre in 2011 were far more exciting - with some silverware to show for it.

One things for sure, one set of fans will be very disappointed by the end of the game - my heart says it will be Cas my head says it will be us.

If it weren't a derby game I'd have written this one off already - problem is it's a derby game for them as well.

It's always a silly and circular argument to try to pick players from one team who'd get in another; and even sillier to expect opposition fans to agree. And right now, if I were a Cas fan, I wouldn't want *any* player from another team to replace any of theirs, no matter how good - their team spirit, structures and attitude are the absolute best in SL, and that's not always about the quality of individuals - it's about the team and the group.

I maintain my earlier pessimism about this one - they're miles ahead of us, and I think they'll beat us; and there'll be no shame in that. I just hope we can put in a creditable performance and keep building on the improvements we've made in recent weeks - and that's not always contingent on a win.

I don't think they are miles ahead never have - still we'll know who's right soon enough



Totally agree about the team thing, player for player there is nothing all star special about Cas but as a unit that's they are bob on at the moment.

That said team spirit is a notoriously volatile product.

What's up with Shenton, did I read he broke down in the warm up before last weeks game or something ?

Back injury - correct in that he pulled out in the warm up last week.

Been doing light training this week and will probably be a late call to see if he can make it, otherwise probably pencilled in for the Saints game on Monday to give him extra time.
