| Heard absolutely everything that went on ... Couldnt believe that Broadbent acted that way BUT can totally understand it ... Hes had enough of the performances and the pressure is on ... He also takes a lot of the flack being so close to the sidelines whilst Kear sits in his comfy box and gets away with it ... Broadbent finally blow his top and will be probably better for it ... Move on as far as im concerned ...

| Quote: BIGAL1 "At the end of the day if those who were affected at the game are happy with it then its fair enough for me, it should not have happened granted but hell my clubs going down the pan and this is a minor incident in the grand scheme of things.
Move on.'"
Well said Al,I hear and speak it at work day in and day out, most of us have come out with outbursts at sometime or other,he's apologised ,done and dusted.

| He had a bit of a swear, no-one was killed or maimed and the sky didn't fall in; he's only human and his apology seems fair enough.

Still it takes all sorts.'"
you kind of miss the point i was making. to be fair i wasn’t explicit i think broadbent’s apology is poor from a club perspective.
the club should have managed the message better, we are afterall engaged in a sport that is now more about pr than what happens on the pitch.
in fact they should have written it for him and had it worded so that there was no hint whatsoever of an attempt to justify his behaviour and finished it off with a line from glover along the lines of “paul broadbent has donated £250 to the youth development scheme and this now closes the matter”. what worries me is that mr glover failed to get the appropriate pr sense check in place before the message went out. however that’s just my opinion, and if people don’t like other opinions than their own and think then that’s fine with me.
mr broadbent has always seemed like a decent enough bloke to me when i’ve heard him speak, i’m sure it was a one off and as a result of the massive frustration and pressure that being at a club in the position we have been in all year. he isn’t the first person to make such comments at a rugby game and he won’t be the last. i wish him well, but i don’t think that his future is with wakefield.

That's a fair point, can you imagine the mayhem if Kear did sit in the dug out. Can't recall a touchline Coach since Andy Kelly in his early days.
I also remember AK having some verbals with a fan at an Alliance game so it happens to the best of them.

| In all honesty it's pretty poor at the club when Kear is blaming fans for the defeat and his assistant is hurling foul and abusive language at fans. Can't wait until they both go, I'll be the 1st to buy a season ticket.

| Why are we even still talking about this?
To those still saying is apology wasn't good enough etc, get real.
Some/A fan hurled abuse at PB and the team, he retaliated. What were they expecting him to do?
If you wind someione up, don't complain when they then GET wound up.
Although I don't like 'abusive' language on the terrace (rather than just swearing) and wouldn't have liked it if directed at me, he has accepted it was a mistake and apologised. I don't think he is wrng to still point out that there was a reason he cracked.
It always makes me laugh when everybody defends the right of the fans to abuse the players because they pay their wages but the reverse doesn't apply. If he thinks that the attitude of the fans (or a single fan) is wrong, or at least unhelpful, why can't he say so?
Swearing aside, I have no problem with him saying what he said in either the incident on the field or the apology.

Have to agree.
It also shows he has passion and although channeled in the wrong place it was there.
He's apologised, lets move on.

| Yet another example, in a very, very, very long list of internet forums over analysing things?
Seems to me you're damned if you do and damned if you don't when the going gets tough; retaliate and you're the devil incarnate; turn the other cheek and you don't care!
