| Peacock didnt do it for me last night, sinfield can be excused to a point for playing out of position, but jamie just doesnt look the same, injury still giving him grief maybe. cant understand why he is captain of england when jammer was like the wildbull of the pampus

Time for Peacock to step aside. Been lacking for a couple of years at the top level.

| Quote: The Clan "Agree wholeheartedly with that,
I'd love to see a long term commitment from the RFL to a Roses clash.
The clubs, players and fans would have to buy into it big style as well.
I've posted my thoughts on this from time to time in the past but here it is again.
First off, forget Cumbria, London & Wales in terms of trying to accommodate everyone, the Ausies don't worry about what Perth, Melbourne or anyone else thinks about their exclusion from SoO.
Forget Cheshire, Merseyside, greater Manchester, they are historically Lancashire.
Selection committee from each side of the Pennines to pick form players in their natural positions.
Game to serve as a Test trial!
If you don't pay you are not eligible for England!
The only exceptions to this would be being NRL based or ruled out by an RFL doctor.
If a club stands a player down then that payer becomes ineligible for the next two SL games.
Every club to run supporters buses to the game.
Ramp up the hatred as per my previous post!
Market the hell out of the game!
Viral marketing and any other that's possible
produce some of the best shirts and merchandise ever seen in any sport and make it cheap enough for everyone to buy.
Build some serious stories up about the rivalry, segregate the crowd and warn the players that inciting the crowd won't be tolerated while secretly encouraging them to do it and anything else that would get home fans riled up or get up the noses of the opposition fans.
Most of all stick with it year after year with the same intensity.'"
I actually thought it was a good idea, before they binned it but like someone else said, just because it wasn't a instant fix and hit, they got rid.
If they put the effort and time and hype into it, like in the list you've done above, there's not a lot that comes close to a roses clash. I watch cricket a fair bit at Headingley and other places and you can't beat, the atmosphere at the Roses games, whatever the format of cricket, it still generates a great deal of passion and hype.

| Trouble is there is none of this hatred around in schools, by the time kids leave school these days they rarely have sensed any sort of competition, we don't breed winners anymore and it's plain wrong.

| It was a fairly dull game, where we were always second best, against a team of has beans, no where near qualification/selection to top level international rugby, in a sterile environment, where half of the home supporters were supporting the opposition.
To the logic of the RFL that must count as a glorious success!!!
Well done all at Red Hall, hip hip hooray, hip hip........

| bring back great britain for a starters, get rid of crapnamara, put players in positions where they are supposed to be in, where not exactly suffering of a embarrasment of riches. if you put warrington up against england they'd won. i cant understand how the rfl takes the line the direct polar opposite of the common fan.

I disagree with that I work in a primary school and we have plenty of sporting rivalry with the school's in our local area. There is a mixture of festivals which are about the taking part and competitions which are about the winning. I know this certainly continues into the high schools.

Decent squads, I chose mine on the assumption that we wouldn't get the NRL based players over for a Roses clash and I've retired a couple of players.

I think it would be a fantastic game between those two sides, would definatly watch that.
Yeah they probably wouldnt come over from the nrl which would be more of an issue for yorks than lancs t there are plenty to take there places.
