| Quite frankly I'm getting a little tired of all this. We have freedom of contract and he can sign for anyone he wishes at the end of his current contract. If he sees his future away from Wakefield I don't have a problem with that I just wish things were honest and in the open so we can plan for the future whether that be with Brough or without him, I'm not bothered either way.
I would like him to come out and sign an extended contract but one thing is certain we will get over him if he decides to leave.

| I get what you're saying but with more quality around him he will only get better, if we can attract players to the club who will complement DBs style of pay then we will be in with a chance of really doing something. If we can get the likes of Millard and Morrison running off him then we will be hard to stop. Agreed JD is a leader however he is also 34 this year so hes not exactly the type of player we will be looking to build a team around. Obst is great for us and epitomises everything that is Wakefield Trinity but lets be honest Brough is the most complete player we have and he posesses that x factor. Yes hes a morngy cocky sod, all the best scrum halves are, the reason hes like this is because hes a winner, he hates losing

Beg to differ with that one. If you want to build a team around someone you choose someone who is consistent, who puts the team first, who is respected by his team-mates (i.e is looked up to, not just 'one of the lads') and does not throw his teddy out when things go badly. Danny may get to that stage in the future, but for now he's a very good player who occasionally is sensational - he is NOT (yet?) a leader. For leaders in our team you're looking at JD and Obst IMHO.'" '"
Agree totally with this. I can't think of one occassion when the team has been up against it where DB has rolled his sleeves up, taken a lead, brought others with him and it has resulted in an unexpected win.

Yeah but I can think of many games that we have unexpectedly won thanks to his all round performance.
It will be a big loss if he goes, one of the best scrum halfs in the league, not easy to replace.

| I would give Danny a dead line for signing and if he has not by then I would list him and get some money for him. We cannot be held to ransom financially by one player.

thats fair enough but why do you think a club would pay for him when they know they can get him on a free transfer next year, but by the sound of what one of your other posters has to say the deal has already been done with the giants. he is a very difficult guy to keep happy is broughy and from what i can see he is pretty much doing to you what he did to cas but he did get us back into SL so i don't bare him any grudges.

Yeah but if a club really wants him they could be prepared to pay a transfer fee instead to see if they join the queue of clubs to sign him at the end of the season...

That could be an interesting option, it might make someone squirm if there has been a deal done in secret whilst under contract.
Who is his agent by the way?

| Brough was pivotal in our top 8 finish and would only have improved our chances of beating Catalan if fit. That said he's no Gaz Ellis and we survived him leaving, just, so it's over to Danny...

| if he goes i hope it is to huddersfield, would happily take robinson off their hands. players come and players go. if we can get a fee for him brilliant. he is not the saviour of wakefield just another part of the team. remember when solomona left, everyone saying wakey would sink without him.
well?
westwood,wood,ellis, solomona, atkins, brough?
if he goes there will be someone to take his place. the club should not break the bank to keep him

| Whilst i'm a great fan of Danny Brough, there are many players out there who given time can replace him. The upside to keeping Brough is obviously he is English, An a product of our academy. But that said, no one player is bigger than the club.
I'd hope the club has set a limit they're willing to offer and they won't budge. Let's keep to our cap and ensure we're not paying over the odds. As others have said, players come and go, the club will remain
