He's more than paid his due when he has played and won many games on his own. Injuries are part and parcel of the game, sometimes your lucky, other times your not. Ultimately he owes the club nothing.

He came for free, he leaves for free, he got serious injuries playing for the club, the club payed him for his services which he provided very well, he's not gone yet but if he goes he's more than payed his way with his performances and his loyalty, good luck to him whatever he chooses.

Would that be the same people who approached Miller who was totally going to Wigan. Or the Fifita who was unquestionably joining Catalan. Or the Batch who’d had enough and was joining Hudds. Or was it Lino who’d definitely had enough and was joining Catalan (bit of a pattern here).

Of course it’s possible and I too wouldn’t blame the lad.

However this willingness to believe what the press (if you can call them that) is hilarious.

I’m sure all will be revealed but until it is it’s pure speculation and a reasonable guess but nobody on here knows the truth even if they claim they do.

The only odd thing is that I don’t see Tom as a south of France type player - I’d expect somewhere closer to home but best of luck to the lad.

The club had until the 01/05/2022 to make any agreements after that I believe all discussions will be between his agent and Catalan for example. The same will apply to the rest of our squad that are not resigned.

If they have approached his agent then it is for next year, approaching the club means for this season.

If he goes he goes ,we can’t break the bank for anyone especially when it’s quality forward power we are in desperate need of ,and so we may have to move on without him , won’t be the first time and certainly won’t be the last . If the rumours are true he’ll leave behind fantastic memories of his time with us and I’m sure will go with all our best wishes for the future .

And who better than your good self to exemplify that adjective?

We all have to be honest he deserves a chance to join a club which gives him a chance to show his true talent. We have had season after season of struggles on the field and the opposition knew to target him because he and Fifita are our main strike players.

Out in a limb here… but here goes anyway…

I don’t think Bill Tupou will return to full action before his contract runs out and in the best interests of the club we have to find a way to let him and the club move on…

Tom Johnstone is out of contract and his value could be used to benefit now…

Catalans are reported to be interested… they have Kasiano and Dudson out of contact this year and both look like being available…

Johnstone swap for Kasiano and Dudson for the rest of the season would significantly bulk our forwards and give (along with Butler) some forward dominance to allow the halves to play…

If Kershaw were available I’d just about go with that.

However a point of note. Two of our three victories this season were created by one man, Tom Johnstone. Probably a similar statistic for a fair few other seasons. The word match winner was made for Tom.

If ever there was a player worth breaking the bank for it Tom and the club know it. It’s also a terrible signal to send out. I know that if he wants out he wants out but let’s not pretend, there is a silver lining to this one, there simply isn’t, it would be a disaster.
