| Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873"Anyone else think that Fev were hard done by here ?
Their on field performance has been as good as any other club in the Championship and they havent gone through the boom n bust that so many other clubs have.
Plus improvements to their ground etc.
I realise that they will have been marked down, due to their proximity to ourselves and Cas and realise also that they will never pull in huge crowds.
However, surely, they deserved their chance in the top flight, even if it was only for next season ?'"
I do to be honest, surely the proximity argument is void with the fact Leigh are a similar distance to Saints, Wigan and Warrington as Fev are to Wakefield and Cas.

| Anyway,
I think what actually matters here is that we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Yes, 2019 went bad after a great start, due mainly to injuries but I accept that certain performances were unacceptable, injuries or not.
2020? As a say, apart from those teams who could actually win something, it was a total dead rubber. I accept that in that 10 game losing run, was as in 2019, there were some unacceptable team performance regardless of injuries.
Yet the previous seasons, 2016. 2017 and 2018 had seen a truly resurgent club, easily IMO the best three-season run we have ever manged in SL, in fact pretty much the only one. In that time the quality of players at the club, especially the younger ones, had improved beyond anyone's expectation, two England reps for a start and plenty of players other teams envied.
So what I don't accept is that after 18 months that is all gone. Truth is, sometimes in life you have to go backwards to go forward. For the reasons outlined we did go backwards though mostly due to plain bad luck, now hopefully we now have a chance to go forward again and why not? Very few of our players are past it, many have hardly begun, so with the odd addition, I see no reason why we can't carry on where we left off before being blighted with injuries and COVID.
As they say, it's not getting it wrong that's the problem, that happens to us all, it's how you react. So let's give the lads the chance to react before dismissing them as has been who are only fit to battle it out for the wooden spoon with Leigh. Surely as a group of fans, we have a bit more dignity and self-belief than that?.

Good, it got silly last time.
Survival will be you're only aiming. If you do then you can start dreaming. But beware, we've been dreaming for 25 years

| We don’t want to be signing players for the sake of signing players because other teams are. Look at Nottingham Forest.

And who exactly is throwing the baby out of the bathwater...
You are right in what you said we had 2 or 3 very good years probaly in all honesty better than most could of imagined if where to be honest and again the last 18 months like you say have been for what ever reason or excusess been lets say back to the wakey we all know of hanging on and looking over our shoulder.and i may add that where those 18 months have been tough there have been some good to come out of it with the likes of jordan crowther (the most improved playwr at the club)max jowitt getting big game time and brad walker connor baily and yusef getting a taste of sl which in time can only benifit the team and club.
So what do we base our thoughts on for next season our most recent 18 months or the 36 months before that.knowbody knows we can all certainly hope its the 36 months before i know i do i hope that players get back to there best and lino comes in and is that link we have clearly been missing and that yea there a couple more additions to our squad like battye but untill this happens we dont know.the injuries may strike again covid aint just dissappearing.this is why for me leigh been promoted is a bit of danger to us they will build a competitive squad going to there ground is going to be harder than say going toyork.its already been said on here what there fans can be like having not been to york for rugby orher yhan junior games but its certainly would be less hostile and not just for wakey but all clubs.the next 2 or 3 years i feel is huge for the club with trying to get over the hole covid has dug but with ground improvements too and this is why sl survival is paramount. so 11th placed finish whild not so enjoyable it could be a path way to greater things.so yes i would with no disrespect to other clubs prefered say york to have been promoted just cos i believe it would be of benifit to my club
And by saying my team may be in a dogfight/relagation battle doesnt make you any less of a fan and it doesnt mean your slagging players off.
