Quote: jack in the box "Calling them in from what exactly ?

The club can't pay him a penny they don't have one. That also means his shares are totally worthless anyway.
Best thing he can do is write everything off and walk away I don't see what alternative he has.'"

I was responding to the post by Top Cat re.Twitter that AG would not be pulling his money out clever clogs.

Quote: The Devil's Advocate "I’m sure I’ve got a share certificate kicking about somewhere when the last lot were in power.

Whilst it may keep the wolves from the door briefly you can’t keep issuing shares every year.

The club has to find new investors & dramatically cut costs, it would be interesting to know how much some of the backroom staff are getting paid, not sure if they are on contracts like the players? If not it’s not just a case of booting them out, as they’d go running to a tribunal. I presume the only way to force them out is if the club folded with a new regime coming in, but that just opens another can of worms.

Shame Gareth Bale isn’t a Trinity fan, what with his reported £300k per week In a nutshell.
The directors of this club are charged with the responsibility of 1) not getting us in this hole. 2) getting us out of this hole.
Expecting the supporters to delve deep to plug yet another hole is going to be expensive every few years and won't encourage sound management.
If this is the best we can expect the whole lot might as well jack in!!

listening to www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk/news ... r/2013/09/ (approx 10:30 mins) MC mentions the new stand costing thousands on the stand.

So we have jumped through hoops that no longer need to jumped through.

Quote: bren2k "As I said on the VT the other day - the RFL told us and Cas that our licences were under constant review and that retention of said licenses was contingent on upgrading our stadia to a certain standard; that included a % of covered standing/seating areas.

We spunked almost £500k to deliver on that and Cas did bugger all; now the requirement has been scrapped and we're half a million quid or so out of pocket.

It's a perfect storm - bad luck, poor judgement and a flip-flopping regulator that wouldn't know a long term strategy if it punched them in the knackers.'"

Excellent point Bren....surely the RFL hierarchy can see what state their contrary rule-changing has left our club in, and should have a duty to step in and help ????
AG was clearly told that he had to improve the state of BV in order to keep our licence, and promptly invested £500k in doing so, only to have the rug pulled from underneath him !!!
So what are the RFL going to do about it then........I think we all know the answer to that one...jack shoot..that's what, 'cos we're not called Bradford !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bigger shame that his agent isn't, having made £5 million on the deal.

I'm still not buying this feeling hard done by because we've improved facilities for spectators. What's to say that that investment hasn't helped increase the attendance figures at Belle Vue now that it's given cover in case of rain and increased the atmosphere?

I think it's very short sighted to whinge about that when it's obvious money must also have been frittered away elsewhere.

Quote: griswold63 "it maybe isn't topcat but a lot of us have had a belly full of false dawns and promises and ultimately turn into lies, I know first hand that some people behind the scenes raised concerns about spending and our capacity to keep spending again without us going not debt again but where told everything's fine and they did not have the power to anything abut this except watch it go tits up, I for one do not want to see us struggling with average players again sorry but it breaks my heart to see us in this mess again and do not feel we are giving value for money with season tickets knowing our best players are not going to be there and we will be in relegation fight if that makes me a bad supporter after 30 years so be it'"

We've lost Tim Smith so far.....He was one of my favourite players.....great to watch when on song and a massive player for us.....Last season he was fantastic......this season not so good....he's a tough one to replace but I more than understand is was an absolute no brainer to take the money that was offered.....and immediately too.....

We still have plenty of quality players and if the club get the backing they need between now and the start of next season we may well be able to wheel and deal and sign another gem or two.....keep hold of the rest of what we've got....and be more than competitive.......but for two narrow losses to the best team Super League has seen in the last decade we may well have got on a roll and got in the top eight again.....As I said.....Smith is a huge loss, no-one can argue with that.....the majority of the rest of the squad haven't become poor players overnight......their performances the last month or so have probably mirrored how a lot of the fans are feeling at present.....

The last thing any fan needs to do now though is desert us because we sold a player we had to sell!!

Just out of interest.....you say the club are not giving value for money with the current season ticket deal......how much should they be priced at???

Rumour has it they already have.

To trinity - I'm not suggesting that it's the only cause of our woes - far from it - but it can't have helped. Maybe we would have done something a bit more modest if we'd known the RFL would 'forget' about that requirement a few short months later?
