They WILL be the owners. Not ARE the owners. As I said, I’m not celebrating until it’s confirmed. Lots can happen like it did At Newmarket. There’s be no talk if it or announcement on Trinity social media, so I guess it’s just watch this space.

How strange some things seem & probably are, as I have been led to understand the loan from w.m.d.c. is for
3.2 million to buy the stadium & land from 88m but that wakefield trinity will not own it as a club, the community
Trust will own it with trinity paying rent which would be less than the current rent paid to 88m but that money size of rent would enable the trust to pay off the loan the loan being agreed in a fixed sum & term time. This would prevent future owner chairman's from doing what previous owners have sold the ground - profiteering etc.
Further to this the trust can access grants & loans for other users to utilize the community facilities.
However there still is the problem of major capital to demolish & build etc.
We all may be asked to help raise some funds in particular funds for a gym type provision similar to featherstones.
88m have made a good profit after purchase price, demolitioning, setting & filling levels, planning + drawing developments even though they have not come to fruition. In truth mani stands to make circa 1.5m profit which is

Seems good to me if the ground will be owned by the trust.
As far as raising money for facilities is concerned I'm sure there would be support amongst fans to do this but that would be peanuts compared to what is really required . I wander where that money is coming from?

The Council seem to be pretty involved with recent events considering, to quote Peter Box: "It's got nothing to do with the Council".

I'm not normally a cynic but it's interesting that the council has "given" us this facility just as things are looking good for Cas's new ground. I've always thought that if we were going to be dependent on the council then we could not be "ahead" of Cas and get a ground before them or get a better ground than them. I'm not knocking the "loan" or however the funding will work but it's an interesting timing.

You have been knocking the council for lack of support but now they do confirmed by our chairman some of you just won’t accept it. No. You've got me wrong. I'm not knocking. I think it's really positive and like you I await MC's statement which I'm sure won't be long in coming. For whatever reason (and there may be many) the council now wants to do something. All I was saying was that the timing was interesting.

Wasn't aimed at you personally Bren. You're a good, positive fan. I've seen a few fans dissilusioned with the news through previous frustrations. Which is understandable with the heartache and lies we've endured. I agree with those whose conned us. (This not at you either Bren) For the avoidance of doubt my initial post wasn't against previous owners, it was firmly at YCP, people within the council and new trust... They know who they are...

I think with all the let down we have had in the past there are going to be doubters.

For me its a positive step with an air of caution.

Very positive step, Belle Vue is our spiritual home and in my opinion building a fit for purpose stadium to meet our needs and take us to the next level is achievable with the people now involved with the club. Interesting to see what plans we have and how quickly work will commence.
