| I wonder what Yorkcourt would say to a new agreement of building a 9k capacity stadium on a different site with £2 million from the council and giving them the entire Newmarket site on the proviso that they signed a new 106 saying nothing else could open there commercially until a stadium had been built. If we use Michael Carter's previously stated roughly £1 million = 1k capacity then it's taking Yorkcourt's outlay down from £10 million to £7 million with more land at Newmarket, presumably taking their net contribution to the region of £5-6 million which seems much more reasonable.

I thought it was Yorkcourt?? As they were concerned that it may drive the price up and they were putting in a bid. Sadly that bid was not backed by any legitimate desire to show they had the funding to buy it and so ended up being sold to someone else (who actually had the funds) for less than Yorkcourt had allegedly bid.

Clearly the trust were awaiting next week’s meetings and clarifications before going to press reading these comments?
If a new trust is to be set up and can work to deliver a stadium surly that’s a good thing and would that have happened if they (Walker and Yorkcourt) were not convinced it could be delivered?'"
You've been quiet lately, just popped up when the ground development turns negative.
How's Ted these days?

| So, in the space of a couple of days, we get a tweet from MC saying that he is once again brassed off with the lack of progress, Sir Rodders setting up his own Community Trust to negotiate with Box and Mackie and now a statement from Box reporting alleged progress with 88M group and Yorkcourt !!
Call me cynical, but after 5 years of stone-walling and "it's nothing to do with Wakefield MDC", why does it now appear that it's Box and Co. that are apparently reporting progress and trying to put a positive spin on the situation and not the club and Supporter's Trust ???
Surely if there had been some progress, then MC would not have tweeted what he did and we would be hearing positive murmerings from him, TRB, SC and company ???
Smoke and mirrors ????

| Maybe there are egos to be massaged, and perhaps now that progress is being made the people with the power want the open-top bus victory parade for themselves. Fine, if it's just about that. I'd be happy walking down Peter Box Way to the Rodney Walker Community Stadium if the damn thing got built.

| Well at least Box is throwing sound bytes out there. Would he be bothering if he didn't thInk this would get the green light at some point ? He knows a lot of people are on his case to deliver this project and he will want to be the man to take the glory.
TBH we are getting more info recently about what's going on than we have in the past god knows how many years.
Awake this sleeping giant that is Trinity.

Even though it's "not fit for purpose"?

| Quote: bellycouldtackle "Yorkcourt are a commercial company whose main purpose in life is to make money and that is fair enough and understandable. The councils role is the serve the people, they are a public servant ( I know that is very hard to grasp when you put Peter Box with the words Public servant ) . The Trust is the body that was set up as the vehicle to facilitate the new community sports facilities at Newmarket. Both the council and the developer approved the Trust. What I fail to understand is why the Developer should have right to veto which trust, who is on the trust etc, the only conclusion you can draw is that it is commercially more beneficial for him to deal with one trust over another. Secondly isnt it the role of the council to inform the Developer to which Trust they are working with. What has it got to do with Rodney he flounced out of the Trust, threw his Teddy out and took his bat home. So whats in it for Rodney the man who agreed to allowing Newcold to be built outside the original agreement to massive commercial benefit to the developer and zero benefit to the Trust. Now I know that the the upkeep of the Rolls, Lady Walker, the home in Barbados, the country Estate must be on the high side but I do not for one minute suggest that Rodders will personally gain, no really I don`t, I promise you I don`t. The developer is obviously very close to Rodders and Box, he knows that with Rodders heading a Trust and Box heading the council he will never have to build any sports facilities and that eventually he will get to build what he likes at Newmarket. Meanwhile the new owner of BV gets to put houses up and everyone who owns the little parcels of land adjoined to bv cashes in as well.'"
No it isn't. And if that's what you've come to accept, it's no wonder as a country that we're ed.

| Ever since I worked alongside him as a seventeen year old apprentice I have had respect and admiration (to a degree) of RMW, but as time as gone on I see he is no different to other capitalists of his ilk, and no matter how many pies he's had his fingers in (and there's been Hell of a lot) the winner has always been RMW. I can only think that his renewed involvement in the Newmarket saga can be to his benefit before the rest of the citizens of Wakefield. Having said that, if we come out of all this with a new ground (preferably on Neil Fox Way) then it's the price we have to pay.

So what's Yorkcourt's purpose then other than to make money?
