| Saw Chris Chester in the crowd yesterday. Don't think he will have seen anything to persuade Sandinyercock to increase the offer for Cockayne.

Yeah I just hope we dont end up putting him at Stand Off.

| Addy’s a bit of an enigma. He’s got good core skills and a good rugby brain. He’s got a good kicking game and decent footwork. His weakness is his defence where he misses too many tackles. The problem seems to be in technique. His positioning could be better as he’d be less prone to being brushed off, often he’s got his feet in the wrong place or is going too high.
If he could sort his defence out he could be very useful in a Sinfield type role. While he can run the ball he’s not really a tackle busting sort of player and is short of pace off the mark.
I’d liked us to have kept him but we seem to be signing a backrow that’s a bit more defensively reliable. We might lose a bit in attack though.
Good luck to him if he’s off to Wakey. On the Lee Smith rumour that’s a new one to me. I’d welcome him at the Bulls.

Funny enough, just watched the Lee Smith try and it all started by a poor defensive effort from Addy.

| I watched him yesterday, for the same reason - he cut us open a couple of times running good lines and looked to have a surprising turn of pace, given that he doesn't look obviously athletic. I also thought he looked a bit suspect in defence - as a replacement for Washbrook, that would be an obvious miss.

| He's got a bit of pace when he gets going but as a creative ball player I think pace off the mark is more important. He's got plenty of good things in his game, it's really just the defence that needs sorting out.

| Another frustrating performance. Had enough ball and chances to score 30+. We just lack the composure to kill sides off when we're in front.
Still look like a rudderless ship without Sykes.
Another baffling substitute situation. Bringing on Trout with about 10 to go, to do what exactly?

Will fit straight into our style of play then.

| The thing with Addy is that his defence is too poor for him to play at loose forward, but he isn't fast enough to play at stand-off. He has a good kicking game though.

| Another frustrating close defeat.
Thing is if you look at points difference we have far and away the best in the bottom eight and superior to that of Hull K R.
Trying to be positive this suggests we are not that far away.
Think we all know we need 2 or 3 good signings, and in what positions, to ensure progression and to keep away from the dreaded bottom 2 next season.

Think that applies to most clubs around 8-12th in the league. Without much money or talented players OOC it's going to be a dogfight to recruit the decent players that are available. You got one in Tuson, not sure about that kiwi forward you brought on yesterday but early days.

Can't fault his enthusiasm but he needs to calm down a bit. He gets ahead of himself and makes costly mistakes.

| Quote: jack in the box "Smith going to re sign for us.
Due to the Addy rumour I watched him closely yesterday.
My first impression was his strange body shape. He has a massive backside and thick thighs and looks like a prop from the waist down. Top half has small shoulders and thin trunk and looks like a back.
He played quite well yesterday and showed some nice things both in attack and defence.
My only question is where will he play, because like his body he looks a mix and match sort of player.'"
Know what you mean, I watched him just because he looked a bit weird and then despite looking chunky outpaced 2 of our backs to go barnstorming upfield. Thing is what is he and do we need more second rowers/utility forwards?

I’d agree with that. He needs to be a bit more composed. Maybe the cliffhanger finish got to him a bit. The kick he put in when you were attacking our line with tackles in hand was a brain explosion and welcome relief to us.
You’ll be hoping he improves given that he’s taking up a Non Fed Trained place.
