Never said he was off more than infield. I disagree morro has not been quality all year. In some matches he has been ineffectual and average mainly towards the back end. The risk year on year rises.
The fact is the Money that morro is on would be best used in positions we lack depth and have bigger weaknesses. you seem to ignore this. Do you not agree?

| trojan - agree we need to strengthen in other areas expecially prop and half back, and i also dont claim to have the inside knowledge of many people about players salaries, i am a company director and i wouldnt want my staff wages to be common knowledge. also i didnt say it was you that had said he missed more games than he has played,
anyway that aside, 2nd row of Morrison, Southern, with Lauitiiti and Mariano would be by far the best we have had for many years, and adds competition too,
i dont think morrison will be retained but would not be disappointed if he was, but thats only my opinion and after all the forums are all about opinions,
well apart from a select few who know all the facts.

You obviously don't know that most of the posters on here are top quality super league coaches and think they know everything but in reality know nothing about rugby league Some are so far up their own backsides that if you were to post something and they didn't agree you would be shot down in flames with their smart remarks.
No need for it if you ask me

I'm with you on this. Morrison is class, and the one thing he has in my opinion over the others is leadership ability and mentoring ability, which will benefit our younger players.
If we can't keep then so be it but I'd rather have him than not.

| That inefectual he is our current Man of Steel. What were people expecting him to do, win games single handedly??
He has been by far our best and most influential player for the last 2 years. There is nobody in my opinion that has even come close and that includes PJ, Murphy, Amor etc He is a different class to anything else we have been able to put out.
Admittedly as it stands, back row is now not what we really need but for me i would have retained Glen before signing one of the new guys.
With regards to games, i would be interested to know who has played (or been fit for) the most games in the last 2 years Glen, Ali or Southern??? Wouldnt be surprised if Glen was top of the list although i may be wrong!

| It's also to be remembered that whilst GM may well have given away a lot of penalties and at times seemed ineffectual (sp)he was playing in a team that was shipping 40 points per game!

You could argue any player could look better in a better team.
Yes, and was just as responsible as the rest on the field for the results.
He has missed tackles, give penalties away and had average games like the rest.
We all like morro! That's not in question. There are just split opinions.
1. Morro has carried the team, can still produce the goods next year.
2. Morro has had a year mixed with good performances, average and injury. Would take a quota and be one of higher earners, where this money would be better spent elsewhere on the squad.

| I have a genuine question about the Morrison situation.
If he signed a new one year contract but it stated in the contract he was responsible (not helping out) for some coaching duties, say he was offered a one year player assistant coach role would his full salary impact the salary cap?

| And i'm pretty sure he stated in an article recently that he has come off quota now as well.

| its funny people on here think Dowes is a good signing and Morro is over hill pointless to keep. You really can't make it up people defending Morro its pointless. The fickle police have made their minds up. If you are a 2nd rower in a top team you dont make as many tackles as morro would they have played 21 games this season in a team like ours?? I think for is age in a team like ours he is far from past it !It was a cracked bone in the hand when he was out for 6-8 games its not like his ligaments and knees have gone.

First Ali (impact), now Dowes (a prop) you compare Morro to... Different roles and in Dowes case different position. You really are on the Morro love bus aren't you .
I would try and reason that the positions which Glenn plays are covered well and with depth but you prob will ignore and post another comparing Morro to Dale Morton ...

I don't recall anyone saying that; the facts are that GM has been a great captain for us but his contract has expired - if he isn't re-signed, it's because he doesn't fit into our plans going forward. It's not a great conspiracy, or a slight to his honour, it's just business.

It is just that a business, the club will after keep moving forward, and keep it's customer happy (The Fans), at the end of the day the club will do what it as too to make the club stronger...

| Let's just clear a few points up hey.
1)Morro is not on the quota, he's been taken off it
2)He had a couple of average performances by his standard just before he was out injured, what people don't know is he played 2 games with broken ribs and a broken hand, nobody knew about the ribs because they didn't want to give the clubs we were playing somewhere to hit. (played injured because he didn't want to let his mates down)
3)I know he would take a pay cut to stay at wakey
4)Look at his injuries, they are all freak things, not like he has a bad knee or leg problem.
My question is : knowing the above and the quality he brings would you offer him a year deal.
