Fantastic, I have been called crazy NGB4C
Wakefield is a small city.... we aint on this list lovemytown.co.uk/populations/TownsTable1.asp
making us smaller than Crawley ffs
Large Local Authority yes....
Many people do not support Wakefield in the city, eg large BME population have no interest in rl. whereas teams such as Cas benefit from the majority of Castleford being White Working class. Therefore more attend games.
Even when Community Dept give out tickets as rewards etc many are not used by many people.
3 teams in Local Authority, plus others very near, with a better matchday product, not due to efforts of Commercial Dept but due to restraints on ground and parking etc, however I agree new stadium would help to address it...The question is...Will it happen in time?
Many in Nat. Leagues have the infrastructure, Our strength was the team....by looking at it at the moment I would not say it is a strength, ageing players and youth not ready to step up.... Not the first to say it... money made from players has been used to keep wolves from ther door

| Quote: Captain Library "My first game attended this year having been down in Exeter. Can't remember a longer 80 minutes! We were clueless, one man up all game which was foolish considering that we actually looked handy down the flanks - but true to form we rarely went wide. Crusaders defended very well but we didn't trouble them.
Tronc's not putting his heart into it for obvious reasons and his offloads to nobody in our own half were atrocious - not that anyone was looking for it or expecting it. No team cohesion. No runners. Poor options on the last. Missing Brough's kicks. Cooke's defence was shocking and he really needs to start stepping up soon. Our wingers must start backing themselves! Why do they come inside straight away when there's acres of space ahead?
Positives
Students from Exeter University should stay away from Rugby League they simply bring bad luck to their teams.

| It's times like this that hopefully we will see why we all think JK is a top coach and man manager, you can excuse having players missing and the odd bad performance but this is starting to turn into a joke and the problem is that some of the players are looking like they don't want to play and give it their all for this club, which was the difference between the teams today, one team wanted it and the other didn't.
We need to Tronc to go if he's going and whoever is coming in needs to be a player that can at least give is all.Looking at the team you wouldn't have thought they'd had a training session all week, complete and utter lack of organisation in defense and attack.
JK really does need to get this team at least on the same page because at the end of the day there is still a lot of talent in this club but seems directionless.

They were the better team.

| Is it usually £20 to get in? Seems a bit excessive, especially as your website advertised it as £18 (before it crashed).

£18 pre-pay, £20 on the day.

| Truely awful today and one of the worst games I have ever had the misfortune to watch.
Two terrible teams of which they were marginally better.
Would not have minded if we put some effort in but it looked like they had all been on the lash at the National yesterday the way the way playing and the 'speed' with which they ran out/poassed the ball.
Terrible and a real waste of money.
If any new fans came today for the £10 deal they wont be coming back. Cant see us doing anything at Quinns with that sort of attitude

| Crusaders were bloody awful, unfortunately we were worse.
Probably the worst Wakefield game I've seen in the Super League era. Like watching Batley reserves Vs London Skolars reserves.
Utter garbage from start to finish. Glad most of the crowd only paid a tenner because £20 to watch that would have been daylight robbery.

| We were one-dimensional yesterday and lacked any creavity. Get the the ball, run it up the middle with no-one supporting. It was only when the ball came wide that we looked half decent. You could tell from the first minute what was coming.
The only excuse is the three games in 8 days argument. The Crusaders only played two and it might have made a difference.
Hate to say it, but looks like we were a one man team and he has gone with no-one to replace him. Cooke does not look interested and Sam was missing yesterday. Our only hope now is a decent cup run - bounce back at Quins, two "easy" home draws and a one-off semi.

| Speaking as someone who got back in to following WTW in 2008, this is probably the least optimistic I've been about our prospects. The performance yesterday was lacklustre, devoid of energy, enthusiasm and creativity. We seemed to lack a game plan, no dummy runners and non existant kicking game. I know we have had a lot of off field distractions but that is a poor excuse for yesterdays performance. I will be dissappointed if JK keeps faith in some of the players he put out yesterday. We need to get back to basics and play the players who want to be at the club, if that means putting more youngsters in the team then so be it. I'd rather us lose with enthusiasm and blood new players than watch another performance like yesterday. Gledhill was a breath of fresh air when he played but I can't fathom why he's been dropped and we are still playing Tronc who for me is going through the motions. Must also be affecting the other players at some level.
IMO we desperately need a replacement for DB, no one is organising the team and the kicking has been poor since he left. Not saying we need Jonathan Thurston but someone who is capable of filling that role and marshalling the players on the field would be a good start. I also think we have lost sight of some of the basics - our PTB speed is woeful, dummy running non-existant even the kick chasing was pedestrian.
Based on what I saw of Quins vs Saints this weekend, I think we may be embarrased next weekend also. Hope I'm proved wrong, but on the back of yesterdays performance I can't bring myself to make the trip. Sorry if this all sound a bit maudlin, but I'm struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel at the minute.
