| Agreed the golden point needs to be scrapped. After 80 mins of gruelling rugby both players and spectators deserve something if its a drawn game. I also have not spoken to anyone who likes it.

| I like the golden point, it adds a bit of drama. I actually think they should introduce it in football.

It wouldn't work in football. You could play for days and still be 0-0.
It works in rugby as you have more opportunity to score.

Correct wouldn't work in football and for doesn't work in our game either. A draw is normally a fair result and the game has Always been decided over 80 mins and in reality it is a gimmick to see who drops the first goal and nothing to do with scoring tries which the game is about.

Yeah, I was thinking more force a winner, they should go to penalties after full time.

Exciting though, especially if watching as a neutral. Without golden point we wouldn't have beaten Wigan last year.

No, we would have drawn. A much more satisfactory result that the Golden Point lottery.

We wouldn't have lost at Salford and leigh either. Intact we could have easily been relegated on golden point

| Seem to remember reading somewhere, about a suggestion of 2 points for golden point winner and a 1 point consolation for loser, thus softening the blow.

| Very funny yet informative pre luncheon speech from Ben Thaler at the club today . He was pointing out that next season when the fans are getting on the officials backs for the raft of penalties that will blight the game in the early rounds until the players get a grip on the rules ,is purely down to the RL’s insurance company pulling out after 40 years of association with our game ,and just one insurance company willing to take the game on out of a raft of 40 that were approached , it really does hit home how serious everyone needs to take the head knocks going forwards .

It really does put the game as a whole in a precarious position ,unless these new rules are strictly adhered to

Good that Ben was there to discuss this - going to be a pain to start with, but at least they will now have the players welfare front and foremost.
