| I’ll admit I was underwhelmed by his signing ,but how wrong could this old armchair coach be . Turn into an astute signing from the word go and always gives his all whatever position he is asked to play in ,a real crowd pleaser and a great asset to the club ,what more can you ask for in a player .

I though he was a good replacement for BJB although a different type of player. Had no idea he would prove so versatile and be a real leader on the pitch

| Thought we had a real coup capturing BJB who would have slotted into most clubs with ease ,but Kay is proving just as effective and is also making a real fist of the hooking role when required

From what I’m told WP had no intention of playing Kay on the wing this year. He sees Kay and Hood as first choice hookers.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Kay back at 9 soon and Murphy getting another go on the wing. Don’t think Hood can carry the position on his own long term.

| I thought Kay was outstanding today, his best game for the club so far. Had it not been for Johnstone on the other wing, Kay would have got a lot more plaudits. Personally I think he needs to stay on the wing as it’s comfortably his best position. First half all the three quarters were top notch and we looked like we could score from anywhere.

No needs to go to 9 that’s now his best position, wasted in the wing.

Not wasted at all. Thought he had a great game.
I like him at 9 but he's equally good on wing and we have more cover at 9.

Of course he had a great game and I get your point but that wasn’t my point! I think he offers even more at 9. You can see he’s clearly busting to get more involved. Just my opinion.
In fact it’s not just my opinion it’s that of the coaching staff and Kay himself.
People need to understand that he’s not cover at 9, he is a 9 now. It’s the wing he’s covering.

Absolutely. And I'm happy he is a 9.
But right now he's the second best wing at the club. And at 3.45 today was the best available.

I’m not arguing with that, I’m arguing with the poster who said it’s his most effective position when it isn’t anymore. He’s a good winger doing a great job but he should be at 9.
It should be Lineham or Kershaw on the wing but unfortunately they are unavailable.

| Liam Kay reads the game well, either on the wing or in the middle. Ive been saying for a while that he should be the first name on the team sheet just for his versatility to cover numerous positions on the pitch.
His backing up of Tom Johnstones try line clearance for Reece Lynes try was one of the best backs try you will see anywhere in the world, the speed was blistering. In fact all of the 1st half tries were brilliant backs tries, and Jay Pitts try was well set up by Liam Kay in the 2nd half.

Correct. Watching the replay of that Reece Lyne try the Wakefield lads just seem to stand and watch as Tom runs the ball out from behind the line but as he's tackled upfield Kay just appears right on his shoulder to keep the move flowing. ![CLAP eusa_clap.gif](images/smilies//eusa_clap.gif)

The catch and offload to Pitts for the try won us the game He’s a very consistent player, I think he’s a great player Liam.
