He needs to get the basics right, scrum down on the last tackle when it should've been a turn over and for the touch judge to correct it embarrassing . I'll hold my hands up all day when it's a penalty but for gods sake do it for both sides.

The knock-on vs loose carry issue is another area of huge inconsistency in terms of how it's officiated; some players have mastered the dark art, quite deliberately, of a sly hand knocking the ball out, and it's a total lottery as to how the ref will interpret it. Not sure how you fix it mind - in the current mess of a gangbang we charitably still call a tackle, anything could be happening to the ball-carrier and you'd never be any the wiser.

It's Hewer this week which on the scale of crapness is about mid-range.
