| Has Sammut down anything that merits his inclusion, apart from the knowledge of what he can do when he's in the mood?
The only value in our two signings from Bradford appear to be in weakening Bradford. Can't say they've done much to strengthen us. They maybe moved their wallets to Belle Vue, but did their hearts remain at Odsal?

| At the beginning of the season many on here were salivating at the thought of Sammut coming in & replacing Timmy.
So we got a Dally M winner being replaced by a bloke that does a somersault in an advertisement for a touch & pass league on Premier Sports.
Maverick maybe, class player, nah.

| When Smith came back I thought he would form a partnership with Sammut, don't think I was on my own. Many agreed that Partnership should take a back seat last week, but what do you think now. I would have thought it was an opportunity to take a look at the two playing together against Wigan, a match we are not expected to win. For me its a strange carry on lets hope Webster got it right.

| Didn't go to Bradford but if he had as bad a game as people make out, he deserves to be dropped.
Isn't this what creates a competitive atmosphere and weeds out who want to play and who really wants to play?
The Bradford game was a perfect game for Sammut to take the game by the scruff of the neck but he didn't, so if he wants to take his bat and ball home, that's fine but I'm hoping he will come back more determined.

| Might be that Webster can see a slight chance of a win and has decided to go with what he thinks has the best chance. If that's the case then it will be fantastic to see Scruton being a rampaging forward busting tackles and laying the platform for a great win.Or could it be Webster is trying to create a settled side one where each player knows what the bloke at the side of him is doing or going to do and because Sammut was not in the side last time for what ever reason he is not in again. It aint helped by the fact the club say injury and he says not choose what I hope he comes back with a vengeance and we see the player he can be.As for Lynne give it your best shot and lets face it even though most don't rate him as such he is one player who can fit into the centre position where we are short.

Personally I find it difficult to form an opinion on other peoples' opinions', fwiw very few players came away from that game with a lot of credit so to single out one individual is a tad unfair imo.

| I did think it was quite clever how Agar lowered everybody's performance levels down to Lyne's standard. We are all now convinced that Lyne is our best option in the backs.

| This decision reeks of pap in my opinion. Sammut is our highest try scorer and i imagine he is also up there in clean breaks and assists yet he gets dropped at the first instance of a bad performance yet Mathers gets away with being a massive girl week in week out in defence. I've watched Mathers step out of challenges at least twice this season and generally being garbage. His one-on-one against St Helens where he actually moved out of the way and the "attempt" on Carney being highlights.
I feel sorry for Sammut personally and think he is being treated unfairly, especially as he has been played out of position - james webster should know this. There is half of that team who have been worse than Sammut by far. Nick Scruton and Mathers just for starters.

| I'd agree. I also don't know what Andy's done to not get a look in when the forwards ain't been on top form. Fittest player in the club and one of the best defenders not getting picked seems strange

| Agree with both of the last two posts.
Let's hope the team selected can prove us wrong and put in a good performance

| Hope it's not down to personalities and that it has to be that only Tim Smith is allowed to dictate play hence Sammut doesn't get a game. Sykes is doing ok though and it's good that we can talk about a player of Sammut's class who can't get into the 17.
His running off Smith's cut out passes would be really effective in my opinion whether Sammut is at 1 or 6.

| Re the title of this thread; according to the Radio Manc commentator, Lyne has made a couple of try-saving tackles and just scored what could well be the match winning try.
Anyone feeling humble?
