| Quote: bren2k "Feel for Trout - he looks like he's one of those kids who was big as a jr player but stopped growing; he certainly doesn't seem to make much impact when he hits the opposition front rowers and I don't know if he has any football in him to facilitate a switch to a different position.
Certainly has plenty of ticker, and that's half the battle.'"
I know size of props has been done to death on here but I have to say it firmly applies to Trout - he is not big enough to be a prop. That said I'm not sure he's ever been called a 'prop' by RA. He is a back row forward but will never be anything other than a back up in my opinion.
As for Annakin I've not seen him used as anything other than a battering ram and again he's not prop size - does he have more to his game - I didn't see him as a under 19's player so I don't know if there's more to come?

Fetch me a tin hat n'all then because I agree with you. He's too light and doesnt present that energy sapping presence for opposition defenders to reckon with.

| Trout has the strong work ethic, runs hard and doesn't stop trying. I agree though for him to be more effective he needs to bulk up by at least a stone in muscle in close season he could be more effective cover at second row.

His work ethic, running and effort etc isnt up for criticism....however, he's ineffective at SL level and we cant carry such passengers. Harsh words I know, but theres no room for niceties in this business.

| But how can you all come to these conclusions when the lad only gets on for the last 10 minutes? AGAR - either pick the lad and play him or send him back to Donny and play someone else.

Im basing my comments on the numerous times Ive seen trout play in both SL and the Champ, not on the last ten minutes of the Bradford game.

| Annakin is a mystery.
He is contracted for next season and certainly at this stage in the season, he should be playing as part of the team.
Apart from that he looked more than ready to play SL rugby, maybe Agar is trying to "save" him for next season.

| Boy am I gonna need a tin hat !
What happened to development ?
Trouty was part of the now forgotten but all conquering academy team that won the title. Where he played a major role.
The player IIRC is a utility forward 8-13 and can be used as a unconventional hooker.
But he came through the ranks so what do we care.

I gather they can charge more than their conventional counterparts.

| Trout was told to bulk up in the off season when we were short of props, we then signed Poore, Amor and he was told to slim down , I know at that time he felt quite messed around by Agar .

Happens all the time with young players at most clubs, nevermind all this agents use players as commodities stuff, coaches are guilty just the same.
Suppose thats different though.

He's not big enough for a SL second row never mind prop. If he is going to make it he needs to be bigger and stronger to cause problems for the opposition outwide busting mre tackles. Extra stone muscle needed over next 6/7 months.
Amor and Annakin have bulked up so it can be done.
