Right Ok we'll let everyone park outside schools then what would happen is they would park in the playground and eventually park their cars in the classroom to make sure they get their kids to school.
If you think lines outside of schools are there for a laugh carry on I for one support this when a kiddie gets run over then its a reality check if incosiderate people have to pay £30 for laziness so be it people would soon moan if if the warden walked past ingnoring it. The school will have had a warning for the parents in any event no sympathy sorry.

| more walking buses needed and more free transport (yellow buses ) for kids from afar.
Lived next to a school for 20 odd years and i can tell you now when some inconsiderate @@@t as blocked you in your own drive to pick up little Timmy and your needed to dash into work its no laughing matter.
especially when Timmy only lives 2 streets away

| Sadly most people only live about 800 yards away but are far too lazy to walk. I drop my kids off at Jerry Clay in Wrenthorpe and then walk to work on the 41 estsate. I have a car but choose to walk as I dont want to die at 50 through a heart attack because of lack of excercise.
If you are parked on any pavement you run the risk of getting a ticket anyway.
Jerry Clay is worse than Wrenthorpe Juniors for idiots in cars.

| Having same problem at sons school.
Now he is 5 so he aint walking on his own and my parents cant walk that far.
The fundamental problem is jobsworths and pi**ed of locals who just want to cause trouble for the sake of it.
Nobody is parking on the yellow zig zags but do put wheels on the pavement (yes illegal) but what this allows is a car to get between the 2 parked cars. If it didnt happen it would be chaos. I got talked to for parking on a bend. Well it was a curve with good visibility causing no danger.
Also been told no parking which obscurs the view of residents trying to get out od their drive.
SUMMARY
You cant park anywhere near your childs school

did I say any of that ? NO I used a word called discrestion, and it has nothing to do with schools FFS. I responded to a comment about traffic wardens pal, nothing more, so do not take my comment, and twist it to something that suits.

| actually it dual sided
on days like today i have no problem with it but frankly its every day i dont live near that school but have one at the bottom of my street, when its blazing hot theres 50 odd cars all with one child in then every morning and same when its wet
i agree you should be able to pick your kids up but.....
1. not 1 per huge 4b4 which could easily get 5 in and reduce problem by 400 percent, do you actually talk to other parents about car pools
2. oh its so bad for children to walk half a mile in the summer sun, its not, read up on britains childhood obesity and learn. maybe say one parent and 5 children walk using their legs??
3. and then the jobsworths and locals will shut up when its banging it down..hopefully, im only speaking for myself.

The fundamental problem is inconsiderate parents who think it is their god given right to park as close to the school as possible regardless of the law or of the safety of other parents/children/staff/mambers of the public.

SUMMARY
Like it or lump it you still have to obey the laws of the road even if it means walking an extra 100 yards or so.

mel walks in the afternoon to pick them today the weather was bad so we both was coming back from town so drove straight there, we always park where there is no lines and off the kerb, my car tax allows me to do that I also we respect other peoples drives, if they want to let them put yellow lines all around the estates then, again its not another rant but to let other parents in the same position that we are in that they don't receive a ticket

can see your point but with a trusted group of parents pooling you could reduce the problem by 400% ie 5 kids in a car instead of 1.
and to be honest, abductions???? how many???
to be consistant you would never let your kids out to play.
again please dont take this as criticism , merely debate, i know its a sensitive subject.
however anyone issuing a ticket in todays rain needs to talk to who told them to do it and say.......i need discresion in my decisions.. or resign.

I can't see why the weather is an issue. A bit of rain is a lot less dangerous than parking on yellow lines, causing road blocks or parking on pavements.

we have picked up others before when they have been working late but takes a close relationship in learning to trust do you not agree
