I like Gale as a player but I'd rather have a younger model
And also, we need someone to partner Lino. I'm not sure they would work well together but in the absence of anyone else I guess Gale ticks a lot of boxes.'"
So would I...but the wife won't let me have one

Again deflecting from your point being ridiculous but ok....you didn't refer to anything I said and I've never said I know more than Willie or the club.

Try and keep up........

I would put some of your suggestions on there, but you don't actually make any.
You just criticise everything and troll other posters. Quite sad that I think.'"

| Lineham has been a disaster and a baffling signing.
I couldn't understand the Gaskell signing either but since moving to centre, he's been solid.
Gale, no thanks but I've said before, Tumivave I'd take.
Can't see us getting anyone like Tamou or Tapau but it'd be nice!
Just hope that we can pick two or three up from the World Cup that are under the radar.

Cherry Evans will be at the World Cup. Maybe he fancies a change
To be honest there are so many NRL players choosing to play for the heritage nations there will be some major talent on show.

| You provided a list of statements which you indicated may have been made by me, to ask you for which ones is not distraction but clarification because the fact you posted it would suggest you had verified it.
Then we have Vastman who suggested I was trolling because I had not check something I had not even raised Lineham’s age. I asked him to tell me where I had mentioned this and once again I still wait his reply.
I think you both need to up your games and if you make a statement and have it questioned then at least show where you had got it from.
With regards you PT you object to me having an opinion on a past or future signing because the coach knows best when you yourself did so with regards TJ. I was not deflecting just pointing out you do not have exclusivity to comment on signings.

This is getting tedious but I'll try one last time
You said that the club don't listen to 'us' supporters.
I said I'm glad they don't and listed some random things 'us' supporters have said to try and show why it would be bad for the club to listen to the advice of supporters.
I thought that would be enough to state my position on this.
When you deflected and tried to ask which were yours. I said none of them were. I thought that would have been clear too....but here we are.
I can't remember ever saying Tom Johnstone should be loaned to Featherstone....it doesn’t sound like me but by all means show me if i did...though he was dropped early in his career to help him progress and if Featherstone had been an option for Smith he might have done it.
In all my time on here, I've never seen an original opinion post from you, only criticism of somebody else's or a passive aggressive question implying something is wrong at the club. I'd love to read an actual original thought.
But no.1 point. I am more than happy for anyone to state their opinion of anything rugby or Wakefield connected. What I don't think is that Willie should read the boards and base his strategy on that opinion. Mine or anyone else's.
Hope that helps.

| The items all businesses need to survive is a good product, good customer relations, excellent marketing and a positive outlook which in turn will generate interest, sell tickets and merchandise. We currently fail on most of these therefore we struggle which will be further exacerbated by the cost of living crisis. We have released a large part of our squad with the appropriate salary savings to start again, if we fail in our recruitment then we will continue to spiral downwards.
It’s not really rocket science but you must start with the product on the field and that is now up to WP with the financial backing of the board. We are unfortunately late again to the party due to our perennial struggles with relegation so allowing so many to leave could be a gamble if we cannot find quality replacements.

| I’ve always been of the view that if players want to leave for whatever reason ,there is no point trying to hold onto them ,let them go and move on .We’ve more or less to a man watched in frustration at our lack of attacking prowess over the course of the last seasons , it has been particularly frustrating especially when camped on the opposite goal line for extended periods to come away pointless . For me this clear out has been long overdue , yes there will always be collateral damage , but we can’t look behind us now , hindsight is a wonderful thing ,but move on ,and look forwards to a new season in super league with our new team, and I will be cheering on whoever runs out for us in the red, white and blue , that is after I’ve give the current squad the applause they deserve after their last game tonight .

You make me laugh.
You pontificate about the club being run like a business then you cry like a baby when it is.
You endlessly snipe about a lack of players and demand that we find magic money from somewhere. Then you have the audacity to lecture people for not running the club in a business like manner. You really are a total piece of work.
One thing I can tell from reading your posts is that you’ve never run a business. You’ve been salaried all your life, probably a cushy number at that. No one who had could so spectacularly fail to grasp how it all works.
That or you’re just a troll. Which is it?

| I must admit it would be great to see the club undertake some marketing and setting some targets
Another 2500 attending on a regular basis would be a reasonable target to start with.
Do the boxes sell out for all games if not offer a payable draw to all for one or two games free.
Provide a fly on the wall type documentary give one of the players on a weekly basis a vidio camera and show its contence the week after.
Communicate better with the supporters and quit all the doom and gloom permanently.

I think MC does fill any empty boxes with late deals but I like all these suggestions.

| Quote: PopTart "I'm really glad they don't.
Off the top of my head
- Accept relegation and play part time in championship
- Ashurst is too old
- Tupou will never be a centre
- TJ can't tackle
- Whitbread isn't good enough for an overseas contract
- Never play Gaskell again
- Crowther won't make it
- Westerman is too big a risk to sign
- Hall shouldn't play second row
- Tanginoa shouldn't be prop or second row or prop etc
- Poching can't coach
- throw a kid in we've never seen play
Etc etc etc.
We don't know what they know. So it's great to discuss but let's not pretend we/ you know better.
And Brough was a good option till he got injured. And Lineham didn't look a terrible signing at first. It's easy to criticise with hindsight.'"
Fans get it right occasionally but not often. Coaches do get it wrong but in percentage terms way less than the fans. Every fan deep down thinks he's a coach, even you, but most of us, myself include, bow to the fact that at the very best we are knowledgeable amateurs.
If Poching signs Gale it's because he needs that kind of player, it won't be just to fill a gap. How well he does is up to the player, but one things is for sure is that's what Gale will be saying and sometimes you just have to go with your instinct and trust people Yet posters on here whose only real knowledge of RL is playing it as a kid and watching it for 80 minutes every other week - still know best. Bet they wouldn't read a few science books and then go tell NASA they have it all wrong.
Picking players you like and bagging those you don't is part of the fun of being on a forum - but the minute you start to believe you are right, certainly about players, then you've lost it. With most of us it's only temporary and in my case I may love Lino Mason this time next year, and Poching I'm warming to, it's just venting off steam for most, others seem to have a permanent blind spot and an incredibly high opinion of their own abilities.
You forgot to mention
Kay - can't play hooker
Lyne - will never be a centre
Hampshire - the greatest H/B of his generation
Anakin - the best forward at the club
Then there are the Mystic Meg ones..
The players who we let go who have come back to haunt us. The potential list is enormous I grant you, but the actual list is da da
Gareth Ellis, Westwood and the fat lad at Cas
