Going to be interesting regarding the prisons, can’t shut them and lowlife will keep committing crimes.

| Quote: bren2k "There isn't any evidence as far as I'm aware - hence my point.
As for closing schools - that will come; the problem if they do it now is that for it to be effective, it would need to be in place for around 14 weeks - which is simply unconscionable. There is also some argument that it's actually better for kids to be observing routine, being subject to the schools infection control measures etc, than it is to be schlepping around at home and inevitably, going out.
This is the 'delay' phase remember - so the project now is to let it spread, but slowly, in as managed a way as possible, so that the vast majority of us who will get it and experience only mild symptoms followed by a full recovery, will start to create herd immunity. Meanwhile, those people who are additionally vulnerable, can be looked after in healthcare settings in a staged way, instead of all at once.'"
Think it will hit the NHS like a tonne of bricks over the next couple of weeks. Most hospitals have 20/30 critical care beds, which could all be full by next week, with a lot needing to be ventilated ie 600 ventilated patients within a hospital in Italy. Not taking into account the shortage of NHS staff we have and the numbers that will be self isolating in the coming weeks, I believe a lot of people are worried.

I don’t know the numbers, but from what I understand they have been cancelling appointments & turning people out from PGI this last week or so, which would hopefully give some extra resilience.

| Don't worry folks, if you are under 70, have no underlying health conditions,e.g. diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems, then in two months time you will be all wondering what the fuss was about.
My problem is I'm 71 have underlying health problems but nothing too serious(i hope) so if you don't see any more posts from me I may have been run over by a bus.
Take care folks and don't panic.

Mainly because this will go on for months, not weeks. We have a dozen home matches left (plus 1 shared cup gate at least), every one played behind closed doors costs us an average of 60K (MC’s figures). How long do you think we’d last?
Streaming would pay us nothing. The only option would be hoping Sky paying extra to show all games but the chances of them shelling out much more than they already do would be very slim. Postponing would be bad enough but the hope would be we could survive the break and then recoup the costs at the restart. Cancelling likely would finish us and many clubs off.
And thats without considering the players here. It’s a close contact sport, they are very susceptible to the virus spreading quickly between themselves should just one player catch it. Postponement is the only real option.

60K a game behind closed doors.
Postpone until June. Cancel Ashes series. Push the end of season back until December.
That's all I can think of.

| I’ve just had a look on the UK virus area checker for the Wakefield area. There are no reported cases. The good folks around here must be doing something right.

Yes, I’ve just had a look at W Express twitter page. Doesn’t say which district, sad, but it was bound to happen. As a 72 year old I guess it’s fingers crossed for me and the wife, and the rest of the grey brigade.
