Quote: Daddycool "You sir, are the only person who has even remotely taken my tweet 'as a dig at the fans' Every reply I have had to it has seen it as a realistic and great challenge.

In response to your other points and the overall gist of this thread, feel free to find someone else to run things as you want? I said from day one I would happily step aside for anyone who wanted to take on the great privilege of running the club. It's nearly a year since I stepped up. There's not exactly been a queue forming round the block? And please don't take this as throwing my dummy out. That is certainly not the case. I will have a dignified discussion with anyone. Despite being the recipient of a 'social media bombardment' from a certain person.'"

No he wasn't, he's just the only one who has mentioned it. On the twitter thing and your Bill Shankly quote banner. Maybe not the best one to have if you you are trying to tempt back the people staying away don't you think?

Can I ask what the target is? I am not following DC on Twitter.

MC put a tweet saying something like;
1500 Adults
1000 Concessions
and 500 kids
Would be a massive revenue improvement on last year

well i think its time mc and his team were given some respect and credit for sorting this club out,as far as im concerned its being run better now than in the last 40 years ever since ive been watching wakefield trinity, just think back to how poorly this club has been run in the past, we are getting in my opinion some much needed direction, and realistic fiscal management, you had to be a brave man to take this job on nobody else wanted it,there might be a few issues nothings perfect,me and my dad will both be buying season tickets and are hoping the club will reach its true potential like it did in the 1960s.

Well said that man, sums it up perfectly for me. I'll be renewing my ST not because I think Al is in the wrong or because I think MC is right but because not only are you helping the club out with planning their finances' for the coming season it also rewards you with a discount for every home game, its just a shame things have come to a head over this stewarding business.

It certainly isn't too much to ask, in fact I would suggest it's a very conservative target, although given the form of the Wakefield public it's understandable.

I think mc is doing a great job with the finances, I want to help out by buying a season ticket in September but I want my club to be all inclusive and keep hold of loyal fans. We need everybody on board to make this club work and make belle vue a great place to come to , surely the club need to work with people not against them ? We need to attract new fans to the game and wtw by promoting a great game and a good experience at the ground, it can't be that hard can it? #comeinpeace

Quote: bren2k " ..... As for the OAP issue - I don't know of any other circumstance where 60 is considered to be an OAP; I thought 65 was the standard threshold in every other walk of life? It seems reasonable for the club to bring that policy into line with the norm - as part of the 'no more freebies' approach......'"

You can get a Senior Railcard at 60.
Concessions for the 4 Nations matches in Australia and NZ apply for 60+
I'm sure there are many other examples of concessions being available at 60 years of age but that's not the point really. Last year a concessionary standing season ticket for, say, a 62 yr old cost £120 (a very generous deal but hardly a freebie!). This year the same ticket will cost £205. That's a 71% increase. Now, I still think that £205 is very reasonable but it's a hell of a price hike and I think it could have been introduced more gradually if it needed to be introduced at all.

Should be easily achievable and exceeded to be honest and help the club grow and succeed and fulfil its potential.

Yet you continue to ignore the issue with Al. And you are happy to lose money over this. You can say it has been dealt with all you want, but if dealing with it is blaming the individual fan for "breaking rules" you seem to change every week, then your obviously getting it wrong. Anyway you won't reply so what's the point!

Let's not do this on here RealSteel.
You sound like you know him better than I do but I can't imagine Al would want a public campaign about this.
It would be great if it were resolved, and MC could help I'm sure but I'm thinking this is better for a provate conversation.

Once again you are like journalists twisting things I did not know Al had meetings with the club. I have had one incident with the stewards where every game at the northstand they opended the gates so people could have a fag (I dont smoke) fans were asking why as every other game they have let them smoke at the gates the two stewards were replying "we dont no why its what we have been told". This is extremely unprofessional and lacks repeat business skills. Have a valid reason and explain properly to the paying customers. Mick has done a fantastic job with the clubs finances and hopefully next year our commercial advertising side will be better as we will have more finances available.

Come on everyone.
Look where we were and where we are are now.
I am one to miss out on the concession as I am 63.
Don't care. More money for club to enable progression.
I too have had no issues with stewards.
I have drink on way and in ground, but never aggressive.
The thing is a steward will not be able to distinguish between loud/aggressive supporter of 30/40/50 years standing and a 'newby' loudmouth.
Then again why should they?
Must say it would be something cataclysmic to stop me attending.
You certainly cannot have different rules for different people.
If its no opened drinks into ground for example, I take no opened drinks in.

MC is chairman of the club, do any of you honestly think he is going to give a personal apology to any fan, not just Al

By doing so he would just open the floodgates for any fan with the slightest grievance to bombared him with emails and tweets asking for an apology.

Its just not going to happen

And no, im not picking sides.
