| I think it looks good that we are putting forward both options (redevelopment and relocation) it will make it harder for them to kick us out!
Has anyone seen a high-resolution version of the planned developments? Every picture I find is that grainy I can't read the writing!

| i can’t help thinking that this is a very expensive window dressing exercise and broadly speaking a waste of money that could be better invested in wakefield trinity’s future and the game of rl itself. sure if it pays dividends and we get a licence for the three years it will be brilliant, but how much is all the re-development costing? and for what? 14-16 games at which a large bulk of it will not be needed. let's say it's going to cost £300k (finger in the air stab) for this temp work - given that we should be at newmarket the year after that's an awful lot of money to secure our place that will simply go out of the game.
that’s the world of franchising i guess, we are forced to spend this money now to polish what we’ve got. i hope for mr glover’s sake that it isn’t too expensive, and that it works out for all our sakes. if it’s not that expensive then it makes me wonder why it wasn’t done years ago.
i do hope it signals a short term plan, and that newmarket isn’t on the rocks.
i take it that all the work is conditional on us getting the nod for the next three years?

| And all of it can be moved, so when we go to newmarket it could provide decent cover for one of the smaller pitches. Might have that in mind

ouch - that's a lot of brass! however if it secures our place, and if there is some residual value in it then it's good sense. my point however is that it's money that could be better invested in wakefield and the game as a whole were it not for the whole franchising debarcle.

are there other pitches planned for newmarket? i had a thought that it may be of use to our friends and neighbours at dewsbury. i had thought of rovers, but they have bigger plans do they not?

| I think so yes. Iirc the plans showed a smaller pitch with a small stand on it. Could be added to that

Nothing could be further from the truth, Newmarket continues to move forward and everyone grows more confident each day. Things, by the nature of the process, appear quiet on Newmarket but that is because the majority of work is technical and of course the hearings are not scheduled to be till December.
Some very good news appeared last week that some of you may have missed. The stadium travel plan was published and to cut a long story short, Yorkcourt looked to have reached agreement with the Highways Agency, WMDC Highways and Metro/Aviva over the travel plan for the stadium. This effectivley removes any objections (well, they were not objecting as such, they just wanted more information and input) they have and that just leave Natural England and Leeds City Council. Some more information can be found here -

It's actually a lot less than the kind of figures that were being thrown about in relation to the redevelopment of BV a few years ago.
500K is a good investment, though, if it gets you 4.5m in SKY money over the next 3 years. Plus, improving the facilities will doubtless result in some increase in crowds, especially on bad weather days.

Is there anything Yorkcourt can do to appease Leeds City Council, other than not build on the land?

Bingo - AG is a business man; he's prepared to invest £500k for the returns that 3 years in SL will bring - it strikes me as a very sensible decision, given that he won't actually have to do it if we don't get a licence.

That is the last one of the list... after inviting some of the Leeds councillors on a night out and ending up in a lap-dancing club bar with cameras at the ready!
