Ambernotyeller - I simply asked if a Wakefield team playing at GH would be an acceptable compromise. Obviously you think not. I also said that I think that the only viable way of having top class rugby league in the area in the future is to have a merged team representing the whole area. I'd still support Wakey if they were playing outside SL as, I presume, you would continue to support Cas. The point is that the area deserves better than that - if the clubs try to go their own way I fear that we will still be having our derby matches but not in SL!
I agree with you about the clowns at Red Hall - their ill advised policies are to blame for this situation.

If there is a merged team (god forbid) playing in GH Castleford , why do you think it should be called Wakefield at all. If its in Cas then it should be called Cas. Thats the sticking point , one team would lose its identity and I obviousley think it should be you, just as you want to retain Wakey as the team name. This is a very good point. I would definitely say yes to this. Until our stadium is built I would take this.

total misconception that one mate , Cas can go for a phased build with stands at both sides and add the ends when and if we can afford it. with Wakey we can build the lot. though I dont see how , cos youre skint too

As I said - it's a COMPROMISE and I feel that that's what we're all going to have to do if we want to have SL rugby in the district in the future. It needs a change of mindset - both clubs would lose their current identities and a new identity, representing the whole district, would emerge. I know that Wakefield MDC is an artificial, adminstrative b@st@rd and Cas folk feel no allegiance to Wakefield just as Wakey feels no link to Cas but, like it or not, it is the name of the district. I don't know whether it can happen and I don't know if I'd like it if it did happen but I do think it's the only way forward if we want SL in the area. If we don't then fine but we'll all be little flat cappers 'cos playing Wakey and Fev and Dewsbury and Batley will be the highlight of your season!

IF... GH goes ahead as a shared venue OR NM goes ahead as a shared venue....

1) What colour will the stadium be?
2) What do the local amateur clubs feel about it? Will they want to play pre-match games there as they do now?
3) What usage will be had of the ground when RL matches are going on?
4) What would the shared stadium be called if it housed both clubs?
