Which is why everybody’s worried

If we go 7,8,9 games next season and win 2 (which would be a huge improvement) we’ll be in major trouble!

Are we expecting a quality coach to be available mid season, even if there were are we expecting a repeat John Kears Lazarus act, are we also expecting the players that we will need to rebuild the team to be available during the season?

We should be acting now, or 3 months ago!

Adam think 6 or 7 games next season will be to late. By that time the cash will be spent and any new coach will have to use a squad bought by the present set up

Sorry Adam, I feel leaving it into next year it could stagnate further and only make matters worse.

We know Chester’s recent recruitment has left a lot to be desired, we could end up signing several players, then change coach, only for an incoming coach, not to like what he has to work with, and even if we did bring good players in, their skill and fitness levels may end up getting coached out of them.

We need to change things, and fast. Hasn’t he already offered his resignation on more than one occasion.

If I was MC right now, I’d be mulling over possible replacements than practicing his golf swing.

Which part of the job would you say Chester is doing correctly pop tart. Overseeing the fitness of the team, preparing the team for a game, winning games, coaching a competitive team, attacking structure, a game plan, defensive structure, defending our own line, motivating the team, new ideas, recruitment, or maybe none of them, maybe knifing the players in the back and accusing them of moving out of the way or not trying or attitude problems. 5 out of 33 which part of the job is he doing right

A new coach needs the preseason, otherwise it's a bit much hoping for a massive change in fortunes 6-7 games in, for a club like ours anyway.

Better than having your head buried in the sand believing everything is going to be alright and Chester will suddenly turn things around after 5 wins out of 33 games. We survived last season by winning our last game against the team that was relegated and this because there is no relegation.

There's plenty of what he says to have a good meal on though.

My own personal opinion is Chester’s laid back approach to his team has come back to bite him ,it’s gone too far and it’s out of control.I Remember him being ask about fifita and he remarked that he does his own thing, and so now we have our biggest earner rocking up and looking like he’d rather be anywhere else but on the field.When Brian Smith was here he cracked the whip ,the boys didn’t like it ,carter sided with them ,end of smith .we've reaped what we’ve sown I’m afraid and ended up with a bunch of laid back easy beats .we've been a holiday club for far too long and most of the players have bought into it ,and the only way to get out of it is through hard work ,and sorry to say but there are some at the club that don’t have that in them ,back room staff included.No team can win a game with one hand tied behind their backs but we are expected to do that on a regular basis .League tables don’t lie ,we are rock bottom for a reason ,we don’t have the team to sweat blood and tears or put the effort in for this great club,but I’ll, be expected To renew my season ticket to help the club out .I don’t mind putting my money in so long as they players don’t mind doing their bit ,which is going out and giving their all for 80 mins ,it’s not too much to ask for is it?

That’s all well and good but you need a game plan and structure, sadly we have none of these with Chester. The first game against StHelens Hampshire kicked well but any coach with the slightest idea would know to mix it up for the second game because St Helens would just play to restrict his time to kick. I bet they couldn’t believe that we adopted the same kicker and strategy and this is one of his many failings.

who would of thought that St. Helens would of watched a video of the previous week and said get out on rocky cause Chester will tell them to go out and play the same way.

Mopsey I’d have been happy if we had played the same way! We’d have still lost but lost with honour.

What we saw Thursday was several levels down from the week before.

What we got the week before was the basics done well and with commitment.

That will never be enough to beat Saints but it would be enough to beat most of the rest of SL.

For me the most glaring example of how badly organised we are was Ashurst. He’s a quality player regardless of age and injury. Yet as Wren pointed out he continually ran the ball into traffic. He also kept popping up on the right edge for no obvious reason. As I say Ashurst is a smart player, he wouldn’t do that unless he’d been ordered too, or he’s deliberately trying to make the team look bad, it’s totally against his natural game.

For those still claiming Chester doesn’t coach them to play like that need to think again. Either he does or the players are ignoring him, either way he’s lost it and has to go.

I’ve seen far worse performances by Trinity team than that, but they have always been commensurate to the quality of the team or the state of the club at the time.

The latter applies to all teams at the moment, hard times money wise. The former is what offend, these players may not be as good as we thought but they are still far better than Thursdays e show.
