Outrageous hyperbole, with very little evidence; Jowitt has missed a few bombs - so has Sam Tomkins, Ben Barba and Scott Grix - it's the occupational hazard of being a FB. To say he adds 'no more' than Grix in attack is actually a compliment, since Grix is one of the best attacking FB's in SL. As for 'can't tackle' - that's unnecessarily harsh.
I wouldn't class Danny Richardson as up and coming btw - he's already arrived, as is evidenced by his consistently good performances in an outstanding Saints side; good for him - he's an exciting young player with bags of skill and confidence - great to watch.
You're bagging a young player who still has some development to do - I don't get that at all.

Hyperbole? Lol you've justified one of my points by saying he has missed some bombs, I do appreciate it's the occupational hazard of being a FB but it happens way more often when Jowitt is on the field. *Evidence* Round 9 against Hull FC and Round 10 against Leeds which also shows his inability to tackle.
How is Richardson not up and coming? His first or second season and played 25 games, less than Jowitt and is still only 21 (which I think is about the same age as Jowitt).
I do agree with you on one thing... Jowitt does have some development to do, a hell of a lot if he wants to be a SL FB.

Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion but, wow.
Did you go to Salford last season when, Jowitt was exceptional, only to get dropped for the cup game the following week when Grix (and others) had a mare.
His ability was there for all to see and most Trinity fans would like to see plenty more and if Grix is out for a few weeks, hopefully we will
Jowitt went well for large parts of last season but, by our coaches own admission was over played, due to our injury situation.

The stats according to Superleague website are ^^^^.
Stats can only tell you so much, and can be made to tell you anything really but 1 clean break and 2 tackle busts all season doesn't look great for someone so involved in the game.
Like everyone else I'm not really sure what the answer is but I would think that the time has come to let him get his injury sorted and use Hampshire/Randell/Wood in some way to cover that period.

Name a FB who hasn't missed some bombs...?
Richardson is a player who has landed in the first team fully formed - it happens, and fair play to the lad; he's got bags of talent and I'm enjoying watching him. It doesn't always happen though - and hasn't with Max, but that's not to suggest that he should be discarded. No team can afford to do that, let alone WT. I can entirely picture Grix taking a back seat next season and Max coming to the fore as a more physically and tactically developed player - I really hope that happens, and I would've thought anyone with an interest in growing our own players would feel the same way?

You're not reading what I'm saying, not once have I said that it doesn't happen with other fullbacks. I'm just saying it seems to happen way more when Jowitt is on the field. He doesn't seem confident under the highball which is diabolical when you're a SL Fullback.
You're right... Richardson landed in a full formed St Helens side and had to contend for the starting spot against Matty Smith, a GF winner and England international, Jonny Lomax also an England international and experienced player pushed out of his position by Barba... you then can also look to Theo Fages and even Jon Wilkin, someone who was constantly played in the halves last year. So if anything he had it all up against him to barge his way into the side.
I also want Jowitt to come into a more physical and tactical player, of course I do. It would only benefit Trinity but I really can't see it happening based on his previous contribution.

| Max has missed a few bombs. To say he can't catch is ridiculous, he was safe as houses in 2016 with a solid run of games under his belt.

| I guess it's all opinion based Poptart however statistics speak for themselves, as Wakefieldwall says "2016 with a solid run of games under his belt".
2016 Stats
87 Tackles
26 Missed Tackles
20 Errors
5 Tries
8 Try Assists
Slightly impressed by the assists but the negatives outweigh the positives for me

| for me stats will never tell you everything but in 2016 the tackling was exposed and highlighted as an area a young player needed to work on. As team we struggled post cup quarter final in 2016 so errors don't surprise me. I still back him as a safe pair of hands under the high bomb.
He hasn't had a decent run of games in 2017 or 2018 as Grix has been preferred. Willing to see where he is at in 2 months time personally.

| Well for me If there is any truth in the rumour that Wire offered a transfer fee for Jowitt then we were foolish not to accept it, we should have bitten there hand off.
If I was MC i would be selling up on Max and TJ, I am sure there would be plenty of takers for TJ, he`s a half decent player but has not been the same player this season and seems to be on the decline, so we should cash in whilst we can otherwise we will be stuck with another young kid that is just not good enough for SL, paying his wages when they could be used elsewhere... we have MCB who is just as good!
Use that money for a decent halfback.

| If Jowitt drops a bomb it's a shock. He was his usual self and safe as houses at Shudds, taking Broughy's best efforts. The usual feeling of dread when it's Grix was great to be without.

| If Jowitt is as promising as you all say he is surely a club would be paying top dollar for him? Cash in now before what I've been saying all along is proven correct and we're stuck paying his wages. I do however want TJ to turn it around but as he's currently selected for the England squad, it would only increase his value.
I've reported you for calling me that Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo.

You really aren't helping yourself.
You want rid of Jowitt because he isn't up to it and you want to cash in on Johnstone, utterly unbelievable.
Just a question for you, as you do seem really "knowledgeable" do you think Johnstone and Jowitt will improve as the get a few more years on their back, which would increase their value or are you writing them both off in their early 20's ?
