Well MC made some comment to do with O2 and him being in Aus, so I pressume he's been talking wth him or his agent. Wil be something to get people talking about again if he signs, because he could be a cracking player for us.

| The front row is our real strength so bringing Pauli in will add a lot to the team.
I don't really know much about him though. Big lad and starting in NRL is a good start.

| We might be one step forward plus one step back if Fifita doesn't return after his wife's sentence.

| I think we should stick to possible new signings and let David Fifita sort out his problems out without discussion on here, I think he's having a hard enough time of it.

He's a massive gamble as Fifita was. However if he pays off stays fit and motivated I personally think he's potentially the better player.
Far more experienced than Dave, bigger and a better athlete. However as Jarrod Hickey proved, you can't always get that back in a player.
Big risk but possibly a massive reward.

Although he seems to have more of a NRL pedigree in terms of number of games he has played, i wouldn`t put him down as "Far more experienced" although i kind of get what your saying.
Fifita`s has 5 years on him as a pro RL player - Playing international RL and playing in a number of different leagues, French league, NYC, NRL - His experience proved he can successfully play his game and be effective wherever he has played - We have seen some good NRL players come over and just not be suited to SL.
At 23 years old he looks to have a good pedigree, i agree it is a big risk, as are most overseas signings, especially with the injuries he has suffered in the past few years however i have a very good feeling about this one ![Mr. Green icon_mrgreen.gif](images/smilies//icon_mrgreen.gif)

I watched the eels religiously prior to him signing for Newcastle and I honestly don't see PP as a risk
He has the heart, determination and mind set of a champion and the size and skill to go with it,
I fully expect if we sign him for him to be the star forward of SL 2018 once he gets is fitness back
Dave had a lot more match experience he's 5-6 years older than PP but was never able to settle any where, the potential was always there and luckily for us it was unlocked finally in the Trin Jersey, I think with Dave being out of the spotlight of the media and his brother really helped,
Pauli Pauli needs some where to re establish his career
Dave needed to settle and establish his career
That's how I see it anyway
Our pack with the rotation to go with it will be as good if not better than any side in SL. I don't see who will match us

| I'm really beginning to believe this is true now regarding Pauli Pauli
He would have surely picked up a club in aus by now if he wasn't coming over here

No dave played much less NRL first grade which to me is the one that counts. Dave is a late developer if ever there was one. For me PP has a much higher rep than Fifita.
My fear is that no matter how hard a player tries sometimes they just can't get it back. Even by NRL standards PP is a monster so you have to wonder why nobody snapped him up - there must be a doubt in there.
I'm basically offering the worst case scenario but that doesn't mean I'm against it. Far from it, it's a risk well worth taking imho and I'm quite excited tbh

I watched almost every NRL game when Pauli Pauli was with the Eels and he was, at that time, undoubtedly the real deal. His injuries were pretty devastating and my guess is that now he's fit again, NRL clubs will see him as a risk until he's proven otherwise; and unlike SL, they have an embarrassment of riches by way of monster forwards. That being the case, I'd suggest that he hasn't been picked up by an NRL club, but if he is back to full fitness and can regain his previous form, he certainly will be.
So, best case scenario, we get him for a year, he smashes SL to bits, then he goes back to the NRL to pick up where he left off; worst case - he never becomes the player he was pre-injuries. Definitely worth the risk though - he was a beast.

That's how I see it and like you I remember watching him at the Eels and as I've said before he was the next big thing for them. Ateotd he came back from the worst injury, which was that car crash and hip injury. The next was a leg break and we've seen plenty of players come back from that, so for me that's less of a worry. I also think the Club will have done their homework on him and his injuries and why he's choosing to come over here rather than find an NRL team.
