Precisely my point - he's a Cas shareholder and as such, had no business attending that meeting; in doing so, regardless of his intentions, he compromised himself and should be held to account.

First thing tomorrow, I'll be contacting rlthese peoplerl to make a complaint. I'd suggest that other people do the same.

Why would Savills ask Wakefield questions about Cas?

They wouldn't.

Quote: Sesquipedalian "Someone needs to forward this info to the RL presses and Wakefield Express.

Lets not forget how quick the documents regarding BV's sale status were forwarded by those over east.

With his connections to CT Boxy should be nowhere near any discussions that have ANYTHING to do with them/ their business dealings. For me that just smacks of a complete conflict of interests. Typical of that political nobody though.'"

Sounding pretty desperate there.

If you read the threadshould be focussed on enhancing our city, when the "leader" is so intent on furthering the interests of 1 of the 5 towns we support.Coincidentally the town he comes from/resides in.
As I've said many times before; if it were up to me I'd leave you to fend for yourselves. Better still sell Castleford to the LCC an make a tidy profit!

Can you imagine this happening under David Hinchliffe?

I can imagine him going through the WMDC like Stalin before the Great Purge. a026.gif

Quote: G.Price Fan Club "IMO you can't have a council which pushes the city, when he is so intent on furthering the interests of 1 of the 5 towns we support.'"

You mean like Trinity Walk (dead) the gallery (pointless) and other countless things they've done when the 5 towns need drastic investment? They even CUT the funding for the new bus station/train station and prior to that cut the funding for improving the town centre in favour of Trinity Walk, so you can't say he doesn't push the city.

Oh and you don't "support" the 5 towns, Wakefield is 1 part of the district and the members are elected from ALL the district, as such all wards should be treated in an equal manner.

But because you don't like him he's the devil etc...when he's clearly doing a good job because he keeps being elected, right?

"Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall" "I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg

But don't forget, he is elected by Cas fans, therefore he is the Devil. icon_wink.gif

We provide you with far more services than we collect in council taxes from the 5 towns. The WMDC has always been a loss making enterprise. Which is (one of) the reasons I would "cut you off", another being a total lack of loyalty to your "mother city"- People in Cas have no loyalty towards Wakefield, so why bother with them? eusa_think.gif

The Hepworth is a resounding success, over 100,000 people already. If nothing else it houses a huge amount of the only cultural contribution Castleford has EVER made- taking that and housing it permanently in WF2 is almost worth the money on it's own!
- As far as the bus station goes, I drive through Cas twice a day on my way to Leeds, it's never full! Even at peak times. If anything it's too big. The Hepworth is worth taking money from that project ANYDAY!!

Peter Box insisted that Savilles deal with the planning element of both clubs within the one meeting, which had been intended for Wakefield Trinity on their own. The planning department of WMDC headed by Andrew Thompson, who have been involved from day one with both clubs, were bound and gagged by Box who proceeded to steer the meeting himself.

The full truth of Castlefords position was not conveyed to Savilles and Box achieved his goal of portraying both clubs as being neck & neck in terms of stadium schedules.

Hope Savills are professional enough not to be taken in by Box's antics and have gained the correct picture from elsewhere. Peter Box is a joke! Hope his days as council leader are well and truly numbered.

Surely Savilles as professional property consultants will make their own judgements based on the facts rather than what a Councillor whose knowledge of planning matters is limited (if it exists at all) has to say

He wasn't disparaging toward Wakefield but did avoid painting the full picture regarding timescales and likelihoods of planning approvals because WR is likely to hold up Castlefords stadium build significantly beyond that of Newmarket.'"

He did Cas a dis-service then, so you should be happy he turned up.
