dont you start!
this needs moderating, I had to post a rebuke earlier and did this as the moderation was, well moderate at best.

Anyway they have stopped now and have been sent to seperate naughty corners until they can post nicely.

Yes i have seen you having a word, try nasty threats though in future it works better.

I see ALL points of view in this little squabble but unless it effects our FUTURE i don't really care, sick of looking into the past.

Lets get to Odsal on sunday and do what we can to lift the team.

Ah well, you're never too old to learn!

If thats the worst thing you are ever guilty of then don't worry about it and yes you are getting old.

Quote: kinleycat "I dont think anyone is at all surprised by your prompt call to arms, the thing is , you will not convince anyone as it is what people expect from you now.
Im sure some of it may be exagerated, but some of it IS true and if you are as in the know as you think you are, then you know that to be true.
That said its old news and even someone as anti Ted as i am, cant really be bothered with this, its old news, the club is progressing off the field more now, than it has done in the last ten years.
Ted has left the building!!!'"

Fair enough. I'm not seeking absolution for anyone, but it is a fact that when someone leaves an organisation there are always some skeletons in the cupboard - and usually no-one to defend the departed. In this case it is much worse because of the public nature of the roles involved.

It's not a call to arms - just a bit of reflection.

Quote: t-r-i-n-i-t-y "That's fine, I'd rather stay anonymous!

The problem is, the club have only communicated poorly since getting into Super League. Even with a local radio station for this city (and now, there are at least another 3, including Radio Leeds), and a website, it was 'exclusive' after 'exclusive' through the Wakey Express. And look where that got us! Not that employing anyone around the club to deal with the media ever helped either...

BUT, that is why we have ended up with these posts on this thread.

From the embryonic community on Dale's site over a decade ago, through the nonsense that was filling the forums with silly games and posts from the 'Chief Egg' to the banning of the original forum, there have always been posters who, for whatever reason, are privy to information that the general supporter was not aware of.

For whatever reason, whether that's getting close to Ted through WiSCA - who, could be argued, worked too closely with the club, and found themselves defending them at every turn, or any other body where contact with key people in the club, which led to little leaks and secret info not for us who also pay to watch the club week in, week out, season in, season out.

Is that a shocker? No, but rather than post titbits and boost profile, those posters should have kept quiet from day one, because, like the 'Chief Egg' as soon as the going gets tough, the info dries up.

I hope that whoever is voted on to the Supporters Trust remembers that it was not just mistrust between board and supporters that has bred over the last 10 years, but within supporters as a whole.

The best case for all is that the new regime keeps 'willing volunteers' at arms length (certainly not employing them for being related to someone else and employed as a favour or because they'll do it on the cheap) and runs the club as a business and not as a social group and family and friends.

Hard pill to swallow for some? Maybe. But, together we are stronger, but some stronger than others is a more accurate portrayal of the situation.'"

Excellent post and it is hoped that through the Supporters Trust the supporters work alongside the club and that any info available to fans is available to all and not just the chosen few. It is also hoped that all the fans get a chance to participate in the re building through dialogue and skills.

It's a fantastic thread, and it can stay. It shows up everything that's wrong about message boards in a very positive way. Some people may wish to think twice when they see "lockage" in future.

As it is, the vilified minority have been vindicated. More importantly than that, someone has actually showed more balls and good grace than I've seen on here in a long time in admiting a mistake. Lots of positives to take from this thread. icon_arrow.gif

Lets hope the contract taken out on the Richardsons, following on from the various original info, was not with that assassin off the movie "No Country for Old Men". I think he was the one who had to see the job through no matter how the circumstances changed.

The aim of the Supporters Trust is to establish a better communication / dialogue between fans and club and so I would hope anyone standing for election to the board of the Trust will understand and be willing to work towards that aim.
The past is past, we can have a much brighter future but not if we are constantly fighting amongst ourselves.
