| Quote Slugger McBatt="Slugger McBatt"Also, why would giving Wakey money have any bearing on what else goes on at Newmarket? We will be nothing but tenants of a Community Stadium. He could hold a circus on the pitch every other day and we would have no say. So why would he need to sweeten us?'"
As well as the clowns on a sunday................................ what a cracking idea lol

Alas, he knows his rugby history. In areas where other codes of football were dominant, association football was commonly known as soccer.

Sir Rodney is Chairman of Goals Soccer Centres [urlhttp://www.goalsfootball.co.uk/[/url and allmatt thinks that Sir Rodney might want to build one at Newmarket.
I am not quite sure why it matters, if he does good luck to him, of course getting planning for one under a reserved matters application would be easy, given that sports facilities are permitted development in green-belt anyway!
'"
After having a look at the youtube video on their website I think something like that could clean up in Wakefield!
And would fit in perfectly with the Newmarket Development.
Good on you Uncle Roders if thats what you fancy doing! More sporting investment can't be bad!
Having watched it again I think a facility such as that based on the same site as our community stadium would be perfect and could be utilised by WT very well too.
We host a lot of "camp" activities for local children- This would give us a perfect base away from the stadium for these sorts of events, with facilities suiting both RL and football.
Just an idea but fits perfectly into the grand scheme of NM.
In Uncle Roders we trust!

| I remember when Rodders was chairman of Trinity and he'd brought the actor Richard (This Sporting Life) Harris onto the board. At an AGM someone from the back shouted "When's tha gunna get some brass arta that Richard Arris?" Rodders looked over to him and said "All in good time, we don't want to rush the bloke" (or words to that effect.) I think Parkie was co-opted onto the commitee round about the same time.

| His contact book must be worth it's weight in gold!
As I've said before; any fan sniping at his involvement with us comes from nothing more than jealousy and fear.
-Any RL club would welcome a man like Uncle Roders with open arms, he has friends in very high places.

Is that it?
Of course Wakey being viable is part of it, but it makes sense to ensure the anchor tenant is viable. The Wakey stadium is a crucial part of the project, but there's nothing sinister.

Edited for accuracy
That's it exactly- If Sir Rod has his eye on a bit of the development then that is why he found £160 grand lying around to keep WTWC afloat. ( Not to mention his shareholding) If they had gone under Newmarket would not suceed even if it was sent back by the SoS.
As for nothing sinister in it - well
In all walks of life some people in this world are good at pulling the wool over some peoples eyes.

A Goals Soccer Centre would be more than welcome. Wakefield is pretty barren when it comes to sporting facilities so the more the merrier.

for god's sake when you going to stop this ongoing campaign, do you honestly think we are daft enough to not realise that its a case of scratching backs, that's the way life goes on
can only think its a case of jealousy or frustration that your club hasn't received a generous handout or bitterness that we have survived to fight another day, and if that's the case then your a very sad person for wanting the sport to loose teams
just for once look at the bigger picture or would you like to go back to living in caves
