Quote: Jizzer "Anyone see Box's answer to Clr Ahmed's question regarding on going talks about the stadium? Could have wrote his answer on the back of a fag packet it was that laughably brief, and was even submitted to Box before hand by the sounds.
When pressed for more details Box comes back quite arrogantly then persists to put Clr Ahmed down with some unnecessary comments. In the very brief response he did say there were on going talks with Yorkcourt, owners of belle Vue (Manni) and 'other interested parties' but no mention specifically of the club....'"

Unfortunately, this has been Box's stock answer for the past few council meetings and that doesn't look like changing anytime soon. He also makes a comment to Clr Ahmed that you wouldn't expect business negotiations to be made public, no i wouldnt, but it would be nice to know what your plans are and provide some proof that the negotiations are actually taking place!

I must agree that the way that Box speaks to the his opposition is quite uncomfortable to witness, he clearly attempts to belittle, humiliate and attack them at the earliest opportunity. Sadly there is no fight back.

Can i ask the a question of the Trust, are we just waiting for the legal advice to be finalised before starting legal proceedings? Or is there another step before that?

Not your problem is it, but if you want to help and aren't just trolling then details will become available when the time is right.

Yep, more smoke and mirrors with the 'no business negotiations are made in public etc' line. I suspect at the same time he's being careful with his words with a potential court case on the line, and it was likely no mistake him not mentioning specifically that he was still working with 'the club' - just Yorkcourt, Manni and 'people concerned'.
The mans attitude stinks, and it's not the first time we've seen him act this way in public (again, towards Clr Ahmed) when poised with the same question a few years ago. Either the actions of an arrogant individual or a man on the defensive - or both!

And yet I think he is a very poor orator!I think anyone who is used to public speaking would soon put Box the bully in his place.

This really is a problem, I mean Box is just doing what he always does, deflect answering the question in any meaningful detail by attacking the individual asking it.
With such a weak representation, there will be little pressure on Box explain his actions more pertinently.
It is a bullying tactic, but he is being allowed to do it, that's the fault of the representation, Box will be Box for as long as the opposition allow it.
There is also the thought that maybe the opposition just isn't that bothered or that they have some kind of "understanding"

Who knows.

So with large retailers in terminal decline and the Government looking towards ways of regenerating High Streets this would suggest that the Cas development is dead in the water leaving both clubs in dire straits.

Surely now is the time for the two clubs to sit down and agree a proposition to put to the Council so that everyone can move forward in a sane and timely manner. Box's pride will be intact as his precious Cas will have been delivered their ground even if it under a charitable trust rather than a gift from a generous council, but time is too short for any other approach.

You may be right about the Cas ground situation but you are incredibly naive if you think any deal brokered by Box would not be extremely beneficial to Cas and detrimental to Trinity. Any joint ground would be in Cas and if we were lucky would even stretch to whitwood.
Also Normanton is a Unacceptable in my opinion. If we are going to move that far from the City then it would be much nearer to relocate to Owl Lane, Dewsbury.

As tenants, guests, lodgers squatters? The naivete is in thinking that Dewsbury is anything other than a very short term sticking plaster on a weeping sore.

We must have a permanent solution or cease to exist and Cas are in the same situation. Only a jointly negotiated settlement can allow either or both clubs to have a future.
