| I think a lot on here are looking through tinted' regarding JK, he went because his brand of rugby and style of play were poor (albeit with a much lower quality squad). Also just because he saved us the last time doesn't mean history is gonna repeat itself.

Don't agree with you on that one, remember this is a club where very little has been rose tinted in our lifetimes so I think it's a fair reflection of what we remember - stop listening to Mopsey When given the players like Broughy etc we were great to watch from 2007 - 2010. Even in the year with just kids and a points deduction he still won more games than Webster.
It was boring at times but it was effective and kept us off the bottom - the skill of a great coach is getting the best from what you have - hopefully he can turn what potential this lot have into something half decent.

| But why would he leave his current job to come back to this one? I just can't see it.

And they had fight too. I never came away from any of those games thinking we'd just given up even though the chances we had of winning were often zero.
I was of the thinking that replacing Kear was the right thing at the time so long as we progressed. The appointment of Agar was utterly disappointing and was something of a backward step. I think that's why many still carry a torch for Kear.

We have enough quality players, you would hope with the right motovation and togetherness they will start playing as a team and instead of a bunch of individuals who dont seem bothered! This is surely what John Kear will bring, I posted on sunday if JK wants the job give him a 18 month contract, time to save the club this year and see where we are at next year, I dont see anybody else who could do this job and turn it around in a short space of time...

I certainly think Andy Kelly or Neil Kelly would and I think they're both better long term options.

It's all opinion but I think we'd all agree that any of them would be better than what we have.

| There seems to be quite a clamour for J.K, but only as a stop-gap, nobody in their right mind is just going to chuck a job in for a short term contract, unless it was for big bucks.
Maybe the lure of moving up to a role of Director of Rugby in time could be palatable, but once again the club cannot afford it.
Interesting times…

Kath Hetherington was getting paid for her chief executive role and hasn't been replaced so i'd like to think the money could be found somehow. One thing for sure is Carter needs help on rugby matters from somewhere.

| Isn't life weird sometimes, seen a lot of people saying Andy Kelly would be a good choice as new coach, the first coach we had back in '99 back in the big league. I've got nothing against him at all, thought he did a great job until Pearman's disappearing millions disappeared. Like I've previously stated on here, we've had promising situations basically ruined by the ineptitude of the various Chairmen, Directors etc, not because the coaches were any good or not really, any coach must be mad to take the job on. Not counting Dickens, the new man will by my reckoning be the 10th or is it 11th coach since '99? That's basically on average a new coach every season and a quarter, which when you think about it is nothing short of ridiculous. Would be pretty ironic if Kelly did get it, but doubt he will.....
