| Quote: TURFEDOUT "It now looks like Wakey are really clinging by their fingertips to the edge of the cliff, with if we believe many of the comments,Peter Box ready to stamp on our fingers.
From a Cas perspective,a club from a small town, with a proud history. They have never really had any dramas(financial) of note, bounced back from relegation, have an excellent level of support from their catchment area, excellent youth development and reasonable financial stability.
From a Wakey perspective,a club from a small city with a proud history.Too many financial dramas to mention, poor support from our catchment area, improved youth development and financially unstable.
Lets get real here, its not that Peter Box is waiting to push us off the edge of the cliff that has got us into this postion --- its years of our own poor management.
If this feasibility study is to be measured on timescale viability and funding viability - Glasshoughton will get the nod, even Stevie Wonder could see that.
Unless Wakey have real viable alternatives, which im yet to see evidence of,its goodnight Vienna.Relocating to GH is quite simply not a viable option.Wakey may continue in some form, but i dont see how, when they wont have a home.
IMHO both boards of Cas and Wakey have always been aware for years, that whoever got a new stadium the quickest, would ultimately kill of the other in Super League, with no chance of a return to the top flight for the team ousted.
I say with all sincerity,Good luck to Cas,as i firmly believe that over the years you are probably more deserving of the place in Super League than my own club, due to the way you have been managed.
For me,well,my love affair with Wakey of 30 years and the game will end and to be quite frank im not really sure that i will miss supporting a club that lurches from disaster to disaster.
Really is a sorry state of affairs.'"
that just about says it all

| turfedout speaks from the heart on his post, and for me this all stems down to Rugby League being run from top to bottom in an amatuer and sometime seemingly corrupt way. We allow Sky TV to dictate our own game and whilst they do bring in much needed revenue they are killing the Rugby League homeland.
The RFL has different rules for different clubs depending on how 'fashionable' you are - Wakey and Cas risk losing Super League Status if they don't have a shiney new stadium, however i ask the question if the people behind saints stadium suddenly colapsed would saints be kicked out of super league????
Like Turfedout i think the ground share has been on the agenda for some time for both clubs although they will not openly admit it and i expect it has been worked on behind the clubs *bull muck*.

How right you are and instead of all the mistrust in Box, have a closer look at Rod Walker, he has wanted this all along

God only knows but since Newmarket was announced he has been sounding a short term share till NM is up and running.
Wouldnt trust him as much a Richard Wright and thats not at all.
We have all been shafted by those with a financial or political interest and the only ones that care for the clubs are the poor saps on the crumbling terraces

You have been shafted by political interest. Theres only one club in danger of being shafted by political interest and it isnt Castleford and lets leave it at that. Pull your trousers up before your mam and dad get home from the pub and go and support that team your pretending to have an interest in

| Drove through Newmarket from Stanley to get to the CAS ground it took a nice 5 minutes to get to CAS, On the way back it took 5mins to get to stanley. Ideal for both sets of fans NEWMARKET. Cas you should be grateful where ever the ground will be as a small district and Newmaket is a ideal 5minute drive away for you and Wakey fans travelling from lupset and town that is also 5 minutes away. Cas you are been very sellfish on the matter sort it out and stop been a ungrateful little district. !

| Fast becoming a pointless thread, because there isn't a hope in hell of anyone from Cas saying, "do you know what, now I think about it, Newmarket is a great idea," and the same for Wakey fans when talking about Glasshoughton. All we get is two sides bickering, and occasionally Gaslight will appear with his notion that we should go to Glasshoughton because it's next to a ski slope.
Sick of the whole thing.

I don't think playing there is a great idea BUT after thinking about it, I'm a Castleford fan and I'd support them wherever so if came to the crunch, I would support them at Newmarket but only if Glasshoughton was never viable.

Now you mention, I would probably go to Glasshoughton, just to check it out. This is more like it.

I suppose what it boils down to is that you're a fan of the club and you'd follow them. I have black and amber in my blood.
I know there are plenty that wouldn't be happy about it or wouldn't go - that's their prerogative, but I'm sure if it was a nice shiny stadium, with a winning team a lot would go. Put it this way, 15,000 signed the petition. Why don't the majority of those turn out to support their side?

Because people will sign anything just to get away from the person shoving it under there noses, especially if they are not bothered either way. Unless it is an issue that people have a a strong viewpoint on people will just sign to get away from being bothered. Then factor in all the people who took petitions to friends and relatives, and the fact no of us know what was actually said to the people signing Im sure there will of been all sorts of rhetoric. All this is why the petition holds very little water, plus people were not given a balanced view of the negatives of any scheme.
