Olpherts would not score the tries that Walmsley does!
I wouldn't drop our leading try scorer we will probably need his efforts against Bradford!

| Can't even begin to imagine that Powell would drop Walmsley and then switch Olpherts to the opposite side. Olpherts wasn't that good against Sheffield, he played better than he had been doing, but he wasn't ever put under any great pressure defensively, Sheffield never really got close to the line often enough to challenge him, he got very few running chances, the best one he had he simply dropped the ball with no one near him.

Walmsley was poor at Sheffield, particularly in the first half, I agree. However it was just one game and he has been out standing all season prior to that. He will play I am sure and Jerry will be on the other wing I expect.

Of course you wouldn't, but like me you probably wouldn't bin the leagues top scorer because of one slightly off game, no sane person would. Especially as that player still managed to score in said game, whilst the other has scored only once all season. I've read some duff stuff on here, but that one is in a league of its own

He was slightly off because he struggled to see the ball in the pee poor lights - once he'd come to terms with it he was fine - he was just unlucky to receive most of the early bombs.
Apparently a lot of opposition wingers have complained that you lose the ball in the darkness, especially in the corners.
It's like you say about pitches, there should be a minimum standard for lights also. It's not even as if they are all that expensive now, unlike pitches. From what I gather all they need to do is up-rate the bulbs to a higher LUX reading, and as the ground is new and LED's are not power hungry it would literally only cost hundreds of pounds.
It staggers me why these things have not been sorted, sloping or under-sized pitches and floodlights in particular should not even be an issue - its pathetic and after 30 years of TV cash there are no excuses (remember that in the early days of SL the lower clubs did get some funding)

There is, for SL its 1000lux at 1m above floor, outside of superleague is minimum of 500lux
For the record, lighting (light bulbs) are measured in lumens (luminous flux) not lux, lux is the unit of illuminance, or luminous flux per unit area, sorry to be pedantic, it is actually my single area of expertise. I mentioned before I project managed the lighting for the institute of sport 2002 commonwealth games site in Manchester (Man cities ground and the surrounding outdoor facilities)

| FT you obviously know your stuff on such matters. Anyone that follows test cricket will no doubt be aware of what happens when it gets dull or cloudy, the umpires get their light meters out and if the reading is too low, the players are off and the game is paused. FT , I would assume that it's quite easy to measure the light and test that each ground in RL has the required levels. So I wonder why it doesn't happen in RL. The second game at Fev this season those lights were terrible and I find it hard to believe they were 500 Lux. I think the lights at Sheffield were only slightly better, but at least they all worked. Fev had not even bothered to replace the faulty lights.
I am with Vastman on this, make the clubs have adequate lighting and get pitches that are flat and of the correct dimensions. If the club can't do that, refuse to let them hold games till they can.

| Fev lights are terrible, Sheffields are worse. Very simple to measure light levels and a reasonable accurate meter can be bought for well under £200 and yeah I agree should have a "better" minimum standard and a decent accurate light meter can be had for well under £200

| The club say we've sold 1500 tickets, but they'll be others that bought online from Bradford website instead.
Be interesting to know how many others. Any anecdotal evidence of how many, from collagues, friends and family?
I bought online, so that's at least one!

| Quote: vastman "What makes this over confidence even more ludicrous is that it totally ignores history. Give us a relegation decider and we are the best. Give us a game that might bring us some glory and our record over the past forty years has been truly abysmal. I may be wrong but we have only won once, the YC and that’s our only other final appearance as well. Two CCup semis, one of which was embarrassing. That’s it, it’s not like we have a recent history of success.
Bradford do, and although they are a shadow of what they were they at least have a culture of winning these kinds of games.
As a club we need to get back into the zone and actually get a hunger back for success, even modest success in this case.
If people think we are over that clitch think again. I know the weather played a biggish part but let’s be honest the CCup game against Fev was the one we seemed least prepared for this season. I don’t think anyone can deny that they were more up for it on the day. And that is typical of the last forty years.
Still, it will change eventually, so why not on Sunday, fingers crossed.
PS
They didn't win the 2015 Million Pound Game

Ahh, but I covered that. We are brilliant at do or die relegation tussles. What we are crap at is raising our game when we are at the pleasurable end of the spectrum. You’d think it would be easier to raise your game for glory rather than the pressure of survival, but we never seem to.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if we don’t turn up on Sunday, I’m hoping Powell has the skill to prevent this, but for now seeing is believing.

| I reckon we'll score enough IMG points without the 1895 Cup...so, I propose that we lose this weekend, let Bulls win the 1895 Cup, therefore we replace London, and Bulls may have enough points to replace Cas.
Oh, how we would laugh.
