| I think Warrington are gradually taking over the old Saints roll of everybody's 2nd team.
Blame Tony Smith or Kieran Cunningham for that exchange

Yep, Warrington are always a joy to watch and gracious in defeat.
Decent supporters too.

With us being the better side these days, we are licking our lips at inflicting more misery on Wire in the coming derby. I expect a fairly straight forward win.[/quote:1d72a5qw][b:1d72a5qw]Wire 44 - 6 Widnes[/b:1d72a5qw]

| You guys are really dark horsing it this year; long may it continue.
Just came here to say that we get a load of antagonistic pap from gloaters over on our forum whenever we lose, from various clubs whether we've played them or not, but the Wakey lot that have been over have been praising and constructive in their assessment of both our team's performances. So, thanks . Decent discussion from a recent opponent is very refreshing to see, stop by any time.

I've heard anecdotally that Smith is quite an arrogant, abrasive character in person - but I've never seen that in any of his media appearances; he always seems magnanimous in victory and gracious in defeat and unlike many of his peers, seems capable of accepting that the other team played better on the day. That sets the tone - if the coach is bitter and whiney, the supporters will follow suit.
I've always liked Warrington, and since Saints have lost the joie de vivre that used to make them attractive to the neutral, they're definitely my second team; until we get them in the GF of course - then I'll join in with the Wanky Warrington song...

| Can you imagine how Arundal, Hall, Miller, Simon and Kirmond feel.
They all played when Warrington beat us 80-0
Ironically, England was on the Warrington side.
Hill, Currie, Westwood, Clarke and Sims are the only ones left from the Warrington side that day (With Ratchford injured but still at the club)

Very nice of you to say Wire.
I think it's a case of respecting a good side who are gracious in victory and defeat, who helped us out with loan players when we were struggling with other teams trying to take our players on the cheap.
I'm with Bren that they are pretty much my second side at the moment.

| Looking at the match stats just highlights how hard we made it for ourselves after being 30-6 up and looking good!
We missed 56 tackles as opposed to Warringtons 17....made nearly 300 less metres....gave more penalties away...had 3 yellow cards...yet still managed to take the two points...
Two totally different halves and different sides to our game....playing well on the front foot scoring points...then digging in with a tremendous backs to the wall effort and finding a way to win when it looked for all the world we were going on to get beat...

| It's about time we started getting some plaudits from the media and opposition fans. All credit to Wire for their gracious comments, we are a flipping good team and to think this side were pummelled by 80 just over 12 months ago, we have come back stronger than anyone could have imagined. So proud to be a Wakefield Trinity fan this season, i'm starting to get giddy thinking all sorts, only 6 pts off top, quarter final of the cup, how far can we go? Keep it going boys, another win next week and that'll really get 'em talking about us won't it?

I have to say I thought the change was Warrington stepping up a gear. I don't think we took the foot off at all.

| Oh yes, I agree! They were always going to be much better than they showed in the first 40...too much quality not to...
Thought the Clarke try and Cox run both top efforts out of nothing really, hurt us badly....teams chasing a game like that...especially a top team like Warrington can be a nightmare to defend against, as proved yesterday...

I think we lost our edge in the second half.
Although there is no doubt that Warrington came out firing in the second half, we seemed to be dropping of tackles very early in the second period and we were quite lucky to hold on for the win. The disallowed try was massive for us.
IF that had stood, Wire would very likely have gone on to win the game.
Mind you, we got the 2 points, so who cares
We will have to improve again if we are to beat Catalan on Sunday.
(we could do with England escaping a ban :

| Yes, we could do with England escaping a ban, and also Scott Moore.
Sio did though, play well on Sunday
