Well I think it was a better effort tonight Godinet made a big difference in attack and agree with Pop Tart it was a big improvement from them all like the look of Kavanagh yes there is still plenty of room for improvement but a few week ago we would have had a stuffing

Id try ship Sammut out if at all poss. Get Hall to 6 in a similar role to what Sykes used to perform and for Christ sake bring a full back in who can defend.

We look like we don't really care, there is a serious lack of enthusiasm and for that I blame the coach. I would love to see what John Kear could get out of this group of players as even spending what we have, the squad is still decent and nowhere near the worst we have had!

Fluffed the chances of 4 or 5 sets in their 30m early on in the second half and had to make those tackles instead. Not respecting possession again.

If I were Washbrook or Scruton I'd have throttled Owen for dropping that hard earned drop-out! The whole crowd lifted, the team looked fired up then Owen goes and drops a sitter and gifts possession to Wigan. Shocking.

Looked like a team going through the basics but not that we'll. Effort 10 from 10 execution 5 . The whole club seems stagnant and something must be changed .

+'s - Washbrook, McShane and Godinet all looked good. I thought young Crowther showed up well too and will be one to watch in the next couple of seasons IMO.

-'s - Riley stealing a wage and Hall should have been brought straight off after his blunder. Kirmond looks like his mind is elsewhere.

Otherwise it looked like a slow process to get to a stage in the future where a game will be winnable in the last quarter. This could be 5 or 6 league games away but as Webster as already stated - it doesn't matter till round 24 anyway.

Agreed, thought young Crowther showed up really well. Better than some of his more experienced team mates.

Yes, Owen's blunder from the drop out was a biggy, but up to then i thought he was having a decent game, as he has for most of the season. Really strong bringing the ball away from his own line and taking a couple of really difficult high balls. Riley. lets not go there
Watching the highlights back last night, Scruton was very soft for a couple of tries early on and i still don't know what Craig Hall was doing for atleast 2 tries?? He's a good player, but full back he aint!

On another note, further from the press release last week, i'm not sure Kavanagh is going to add much size to the pack!

Thing I noticed was our speed both in attack, but especially in defence, we were a lot slower than Wigan at moving up and it showed

Have to agree with most of that. If Sammut had have made some of those efforts at fullback that Hall did last night he would be roundly chastised on here. For me Hall should be at 6 with McShane & Godinet rotating at hooker. Lets give young Jowitt a go at fullback, you know try a player in his true position? Owen bar a couple of early catches was pretty poor last night, actually thought Riley had the better game of the two this time round. You are right about Kavanagh though, i thought he was much bigger than he actually is.

By the look of thing's I'm as sure as I can be that if Webster could move Sammut on he would have done by now, as for Kirke what's he done wrong? he's only had 2 games and broke a thumb not exactly an historic injury is it.

I'd certainly keep Kirke, from what little we've seen I've been impressed and like his attitude. He was thrilled to bits to get his first try last week.

As for last night... well I think there was marginal improvement. We are fortunate Wigan were not on their game because we could easily have conceded 60-70.

I think Godinet proved himself and we should keep him at stand off, for now at least. Miller, no thanks. I'm not sure where that leaves us for rotating hookers but at least we've improved the half backs.

I won't be harsh on Owen. It was a mistake and maybe the only one he made in the entire game. For me he is vastly improved on last season and along with Washbrook has been one of our best players this year (IMVHO).

Hall. Not sure what on earth he was thinking sometimes. Just let Wigan stroll in during the first half then pulls a blinding last man defence tackle in the second. I accept he probably wouldn't have stopped those tries in the 1st half but he could at least have looked bothered.

Delighted to have Lyne back although at least one of his defensive decisions cost us a try.

Going forward we look okay but I still think our defence is very sub-standard. I know we have no money but a few weeks with a pro-defensive coach mentoring the team and Webster would work wonders for me. For maybe the first 5 minutes our defence looked solid and the line wasn't broken then it just slipped after that.

I'm not sure what is going on with Riley but he is half the player he was last year for me.

More improvement needed I think. I can't see us getting more wins in the normal league. Maybe Widnes and Salford at home would my bets but that is probably it.

He'll do at 6 foot 2 tall and 17 1/2 stones. Webster also stated he is a genuine prop probably making reference to using the Salford loan signing there when he is a second rower. Thought for first game Kavanagh went well and always took 2/3 to tackle him whilst he made yards, thought Kirke was a bit pedestrian to be honest but to be expected when off for so long it'll take time to get match fit although maybe another 4 weeks off now?

Annakin and Molloy to play against Saints surely?

Really, didn't see it myself. You do know that 90% of tries are caused by a defensive mistake which includes every other SL team.

Don't agree.

Scoreline slightly flattered Leeds and with a bit more composure could have been even closer.

What was on display last night was a team low on everything but slowly managing to get off the deck.

Warrington was a stuffing- last night just wasn't the one that takes us back to winning ways.

Whichever way you look at it it was a huge improvement in every respect over the Easter debacle.

I think as fans we need to give credit where it's due - that's not the same as accepting a 20pt defeat as acceptable, it isn't but how it came about was.

I feel the players at least now swam to realise what they are up against and appear to want to do something about it at last,

He hasn't done anything wrong but he's a player at the very tail end of his career and on a 1 year deal for a season which will be all but over by the time he's match fit. That's why I said MUTUAL CONSENT, maybe he would see the reasoning behind him calling it a day.
