once again statement of intent by the club well done. More players will follow as we have made our intent early. Its something we had to do and we have done it.This could be the most exciting off season for a long long time. Is the catch Richard Agar lol? Sammuit and Mellers were crusaders main men good signing.

Hopefully this can rule out Keith Senior as our centre for next season, don`t get me wrong I think that a fit Senior would be an advantage to any of the teams outside the top 8, but with rumours about him needing more operations Vince Mellor looks a lot better proposition. Welcome aboard sir !

I really don't get Trinity fans. We sign a second rate NZ and some on here immediately want to play him ahead of Luke George one of the most talented up and coming young British centres in the game. This after bleating on about Kear not playing our young players. It should be Me;;ors who is back up - do we never learn.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!

Luke go to Hudds mate (which if you are smart you already have), this club is supported by loons.

Another up and coming young British player, you must be delighted. Who do you want to bin to give this guy a spoy, you've already done George so may I suggest Marriano.

I mean after winning just about everything at top clubs he must really view us as a step up. His motivation is beyond reproach.

George has been up and coming for 2 full seasons and failed through injuries and whatever other reasons to kick on.

He has had one maybe two good games where he has really put himself about and looked good this year.

For me he can go or stay I'm not overly bothered.

Hopefully the club will get the mix right of overseas and Uk based players for 2012.

I know Lautiti is past his best but he offers something that none of our current forwards do.

I don't care where our players come from so long as they put 100% in when they pull on the shirt.

FWIW I rate George and would like him to sign a new contract and I feel that George Murphy, Mellers and Walshaw would offer us 4 very good Super League centres.

Mellors is no 2nd rater, for me our best signing for a long long time.

As for George like him a lot but just how many games as he missed through injury, if he can't put more than 3 or 4 games together is he much use to the team.
Just watch he'll leave and not get another injury and go on to be a world beater.

Do we really know if he is a centre?? How often have we seen him put his winger away? he looks better in the centre with us as he is getting more ball and more opportunity. Im still not convinced in a good side, that passes the ball about, he wouldnt be back on the wing.
I may be wrong, he may have the skills required but without ever seeing them i couldnt be so sure.

Given the option i would defo like to keep him tho as you know if he leaves he will end up injury free and playing 2 or 5 for England within 12 months!

I think he has improved a lot this year, he's injury prone and I think sometimes he is a bit too worried about getting injured.
At times this season he has stood out, and we should be retaining him if financially possible and giving him a starting centres shirt for next season.

To be honest he stood out because of his defensive efforts in a couple of games, shudds springs to mind.
Huge potential but will we ever see it at Belle Vue in the Trin colours.

How many times in recent years have we claimed that we have a 3/4 that can defend? Not many!!!
Look at Millard and Blanch away from BV both look better, and arguably neither can still defend, so perhaps we may see similar benefits with George with a new coach and playing system.
I'm not saying he's brilliant, I just think he improved this year and he could improve a lot more and then who knows?

This is true he has only stood out in few games with def/ mainly marker def.

I prefer George on the wing and I've seen very little of him at centre to convince me that's what he is.

I think George is a better Centre than Winger. He looks more comfortable there and his tackling is excellent.

To be honest I thought that ship had sailed a while ago. However, if George is staying i'd definitely have him in the centres over Mellars, with the latter perhaps moving onto the wing.
