If that's your only criteria then of course it's the same.

In what way is it [isignificantly[/i better?
The gradient of the terrace? OK.
But it's miles to the loos & bars.
And it's in Leeds.

As an away fan, i have to admit the experience of standing in your away end compared to leeds is alot worse.
Even on the no roof front, to be fair though you do have that small bit of cover on one end which is where i usually stand at your place for that reason, so you may get a slight lead on that one.
The viewing is much worse due to the gradient, some parts of the pitch if it is crowded you can't see at all and are constantly having to move around if you are near people of a similar height.
Toilets and bars are not that far really at headingley for it to be a real issue, the toilet situation at wakefield a few weeks ago was atrocious though. Only 1 small set of toilets for what was a pretty full away end was shocking, can only get about 8 people in the room at a time, had to queue up not to mention they was disgusting! Normally there are toilets open in the building near the flats that are the ones i normally use, much bigger and much nicer but for some reason they were closed this time around. Anybody know why? hopefully that is not permanent.
Just my honest opinions as somebody who has been an away fan in both stadiums many times.
Saying all that leeds are trying their best to even it up!
one way system on the steps which has never been in place before that i can remember? top steps for up to the away end / bottom steps for going down to the toilets and bars. Strictly enforced aswell even if there was nobody in sight on the quite roomy top steps.
Ale in crappy paper cups that went flimsy very quickly, luckily i was driving so didn't effect me but my mates weren't so chuffed and neither were others around us.
Rugby was rubbish aswell, but that's another story entirely

I hadn't realised they had closed the large toilet block!! That seems odd.
Most home fans would agree that it's the West terrace (away fans), that really let's the ground down, now that the East re-build is in progress.

| Being saying it for years.
Why oh why do we let away fans stand down the sides and not shove them behind the sticks which other teams do so they can not really help the referee with forward passes and off sides.
All our home games are nearly away games

Me and Mr Bliss stood there for years and loved it, sorry but we did. I'm a fan of the current management but they don't get everything right.

| I opted to go sit in the East Terrace and we know that Sky camera angles etc etc wouldn’t permit a roofed terrace but a great shame that the West was handed over to away supporters.

We used to stand level with the front of the old west stand which wasn't too bad. The front section is too low. Looking at the heritage site it's where the cycle track used to be.
Glover moved us to the North after he'd splashed out on the roof and made it home fans only. Before that it was mainly away fans.
Radio commentary is now from the west, so picks up the noise of the away fans.

Well it’ll be quiet on the radio next home game v Catalans, if it’s raining then at least home fans can use the small shelter in the corner

Would have been a better idea putting seating under the west terrace stand.

I'm sure the East Stand ticket holders would have been delighted with that view.

If being dry is more important than seeing the game, fine.
It doesn't rain every game day, and you wouldn't get all the seats needed in that area.
Bottom line is, there is NO neat solution to the short term issues caused by the re-development.
We have to live with for, perhaps, 10 more home games.
