| Quote: Slugger McBatt "I'm struggling to work out how any connection to Wakefield FC could ruffle any feathers as the club would have the option of not stocking their produce. The presence of Wakefield FC produce suggests that feathers are not ruffled at all.
My only concern of any rise of Wakefield FC would be the Wakefield public getting a choice of how to support their city in sport and them choosing football over rugby, but then again that's a matter for the game as a whole.'"
I’m only guessing here, but RW is behind the football club, if said football club managed to access grants for say £2M, then surely the football club would want/demand a fair share of the ground so ultimately Trinity wouldn’t own the ground 100%.

Is there anything to stop Trinity applying for a football grant given the game could be played their, especially with the affiliated ladies team also

Not sure KK, I'm sure others will know better than us.

| Wakefield FC is a Trojan Horse, designed for someone I find unsavoury, to get their hands on BV.
I am sure Mr. Carter knows what he's doing, but like some others on here, I am uncomfortable with any form of relationship with them.

Exactly my thoughts on this.

See this is the bit I don't get, this is the paranoia that others I expect are referring too.
No offence dboy but your argument seems flawed IMHO.
For a start we don't own BV in any real sense, nor does it currently have any real value as either an RL ground or a football ground. If we had no mortgage on it, which I assume is a 100% and that at least some of it was up to any decent standard then yes it might be a gamble to let others in but it isn't. It's actually a dump that we paid over the odds for and requires millions spending on it just to be half-decent, we quite literally have nothing to lose because if it doesn't become half decent and soon we will be kicked out of SL and we will die anyway.
With that in mind, why would Wakefield FC or RW even need a Trojan horse? Also, BV has been available for purchase for more or less the last ten years so if RW had wanted it to develop BV for Wakefield FC he could have bought it at any time and simply kicked us out or milked us as tenants. They didn't need WTRLFC to do that did they, so where is the advantage in doing now when Trinity has a bit more of a hold on the stadium rather than less, it makes no sense.
I have no issue with you regarding Walker, I find him odious and his practices dubious a lot of the time, however like many others I don't see the issue as regards Wakefield FC with or without RW.
Let be honest, there is no way a struggling club in a struggling sport like RL could by itself develop BV, we just don't have the cash or the access to borrow it, that's a fact and in that respect, we are fairly stuffed as far as I can see.
We will need the support of others to do it and in return, they will want their piece of flesh and if Wakefield FC backed by RW is where that support is coming from then so be it, personally I can't see any option. As I said before if you can then my ears are open.
At the end of the day if we pay for the land and the rest pay for the stadium and we end up as say a 50% shareholder then is that so bad. So long as we don't lose our ability to influence the way BV is run and thus our right to be there at a fair rate then fine, why not? In truth, if the stadium were converted into an Ltd company with a BOD including one from Trinity we would only need 31% of the shares to be able to block anything we didn't like (that's how I understand corporate law, others may know differently).
The 30% theoretically is quite important for another reason. The cost of buying the ground at a rough guess would be around 30% of the eventual cost of a full revamp of BV. Just a thought. Basically I'm struggling to see the conspiracy

Slightly off topic but that highlighted line is completely wrong. Take a look at the like of Bury & Bolton recently plus the current League 2, National League and clubs lower down the pyramid than that. I'm sure they'd tell you that you're
Anyway back on topic, we'd be nowt without MC and others like him.
Up the Trin.

| A post from IA, dated July 27 2017g
A brief informal statement from me personally as Chair of the Wakefield & District Community Trust.
At 9.30am on Thursday 27th July, I understand that Sir Rodney Walker and his yet unknown colleagues, are meeting at the offices of Chadwick Lawrence. I can also confirm that as of this time no new Trust company with Sir Rodney as a Director/Trustee is showing as been registered with either Companies House or the Charity Commission.
I was invited to attend said meeting by Sir Rodney but last night called him and left a message declining and offering both my apologies and an explanation as to why I would not be attending. I have previously been very clear that I would not let anyone or anything get in the way of seeing a community stadium built and that anyone who feels that they can offer help and assistance in doing so would be welcome to work with and potential be invited to join (or rejoin) this Trust. This is still unequivocally the case.
In light of Cllr Peter Box comments in the council chamber yesterday and the comments he made in last weeks press release following our meeting, he has made it very clear that it is this Trust, The Wakefield and District Community Trust, that he wishes the council and developer to work with to hopefully (and finally) facilitate and deliver a community stadium. He has expressed a further wish that everyone should come together and work towards this common objective and I wholeheartedly agree with those sentiments.
As such, I have once again invited Sir Rodney to rejoin this Trust and also made it clear that we would consider any new Trustees he wished to propose and whom he felt may be able to also work towards this shared objective.
It is now clear that Sir Rodney (and his unknown colleagues) have two clear choices, he (they) can decide to accept our offer to work and join with us or, if not, they should quite simply walk away and allow this Trust to continue in its unswerving and unabashed attempts to deliver the community stadium the citizens of Wakefield were promised.
If we don't hear from Sir Rodney (and his colleagues) before close of business on Friday 28th July, accepting our invitation, then we will have to assume that they have decided on another course of action.
We hope they either decide to work with us or walk away and allow this Trust to continue to move forward. Any other course of action is clearly no longer helping or helpful.
The Trustees and I are determined as ever to see a community stadium delivered to the wonderful and deserving people of the City of Wakefield and we remain mandated, privileged and committed to do so.
Jonathan Stone
Sir RMW, I believe has links to those involved with Trinity AFC, we need to take extra care when dealing with matters involving this man. Just my opinion of course.

| The Wakefield FC home kit looks well and I’ve always wanted a football club representing our City. If they help get Belle Vue redeveloped via access to grants unavailable to Trinity all the better.

| Well that didn't take long to find out what's what as far as the football Club , Wakefield FC is owned by a company called ROMIRO GROUP , A quick look at Companies House at RW and there it is Romino Group - he''s used the name Romino 3 times for companies. Also, I just read an article about selling 49% of shares to future fans and businesses and to get in touch with a bloke called Mike Hegarty - who also happens to be a director at the same company with Walker. What all this has to do with the development I don't know and obviously MC & John Minards aren't daft by a long way and are wise to RW and at the end of the day, even with RW they're a start up football side looking for anyone to show interest.
