Quote: Eastern Wildcat "I was talking to someone at work the other day, and he had said Newmarket definately not happening, but we are trying to buy the ground back, and will be upgrading the stadium in time, he said Cas stadium not happening also.

How true this is i dont know, but they do a lot of work with Wakefoeld Council, but would rather, if it is the case, be released in some kind of oficial statement by the club.'"

That’s the rumour that’s been doing the rounds, heard the same or similar from a few people so must be something in it but what did our new chairman say? Don’t believe anything until it’s announced by the club.

Would always prefer Belle Vue to be renovated. Obviously i'll take whatever i can get, but to keep BV, a historic ground pretty much in the city centre of Wakefield would be brilliant. Get some good quality stands - standing and seating, improved utilities (good food and drink, some well maintained and well lit toilets), a clock we can actually see and we will be set.
We don't have the strongest support, and whilst i do hope we can build on the support in the coming years i would rather a small/medium stadium full with energy and history than a newly dropped space, empty.

Hope we don’t have a 4g pitch if the new Belle Vue gets the nod.

just put a 60 yr dreadnoughts book on ebay and I found one of the pages had a finished photo and write up about the north stand,
it mentioned that the work was finally done in 1950 and the work was done by volunteers even back then icon_smile.gif

The application is currently scheduled to be heard at the Planning and Highways Committee meeting of 21 Feb 2019.

However this will not be formally confirmed until the agenda has been published.

Meeting agendas are published on the Council's website at:

https://www.wakefield.gov.uk/about-the- ... nd-minutes

The agenda is usually published around 5 working days prior to the meeting.

Regards,

Michael

I emailed the planning department today. Although the date is not yet confirmed, only 5 days notice for a confirmed date doesn’t give trust and supporters much time to organise a meeting/response.

If a deal is signed off that enables the City of Wakefield to have a fit for purpose stadium then there maybe no need to oppose.

Sorry if I've misunderstood your post Snowie, but I've been watching Trin for 64 years and there's never been a north stand either before or after 1950 until the one that's there now
