I'm pretty sure I've got a Wakey Express pic of me from an open day with Ian Gildart and Aaron Whitaker.

I'm sure all other clubs could do the same.
Leeds would be top of the list. That Gallagher bloke they signed at fullback for starters.
Cas have had plenty of flops from us. George Ballentyne, Richard Goddard, Brett Ferres.

| Hello
does anyone remember :-
Greg Lennon - tapped his right toe into the ground every 10 strides when he walked
Paul Taylor - a hooker of repute who lasted 21 minutes, kicked for touch and went home the following week
Lamont Copestake - making a trio of oversea turkeys
oh yes
Chris Mortimer
all from oversea of course
and while we are at it
Mitch Brennan, went back to Aus to be a car park attendant, allegedly

Never did much as a coach but i understand he did set up good structures within the club/coaching staff and that helped us in the coming years.

Paul Taylor was a member of the awesome Parramatta side from the early eighties.. and was a full back/ half... had a stlye and look of Peter Sterling
he came to wakefield on the back of being a good pal of Ray Price, ( I was on holiday in Sydney at the time) I remember it being across the back pages of the sydney press that Taylor was following Price to play at Wakefield..
He made his debut against Leeds at home when just a few minutes into the game fell awkwrdly in a tackle and ruptured his cruciate ligament.. a career ending injury. Thats why he went home! The injury and the footage was also shown on prime time news in Australia.
Ged Byrne was a very good signing for the club (a club record i think) and put in some sterling performances from stand off in a pretty ordinary team.
Chris Mortimer is still a revered player here in Sydney and particularly at the BullDogs... again a solid tackling loose... which he did at Wakefeild admirably.
Tracey Lazenby is one of the players I most enjoyed watching in my time as a Trinity fan...
Greg Lennon, another player to suffer injury early in his trinity career, an ankle problem which took yards off of his awesome pace, I couldnt believe we had pulled off the signing of such a high profile player as we were in the lower division at the time, it was a shame that we did not see his best.
sorry to be un-negative..

| I thought taylor was a stand off. All i remember about him was him kicking out on the full.
Chris mortimer, good tackler, solid rather than spetacular. Tracey lazenby however, was a class apart. On his day could day could rip any team apart.

| No way would I put Lazenby in this bracket. Was a decent player when he felt like turning it on.
I remember Chris Mortimer coming from Penrith with a big reputation. Big disappointment more like. Stevo used to slag Wakey fans off in his column for getting on his back. He could tackle like alright but not what Trinity were looking for from a big signing in those days-we had a few solid reliable types like Belly, Glancy and Johnny T.
