At Tuesdays shareholders meeting both John Kear and Ted said there had been no approach from anyone for Brough.

Surely some ground for complaint is in order here. You can't possibly go round declaring your interest in a player that still is half way through his 3 year contract. Especially not the way it's been done via the press on several occasions. It’s clearly unsettling to club and the player. I mean are we going to keep having this all year? There are proper channels to go through, at the moment it doesn't seem to be respected.

Message to Brough: a club with some cash to spend is interested in you. If you want some of it, play your socks off for the rest of the year, particularly when the Hudds coach has an unimpeded view of you for 80 minutes in a couple of weeks. Lifting the Challenge Cup might add a nought or two onto your salary.

There is nothing to complain about, unless there has been an illegal approach made to him by interested parties. Brown at Hudds is quite entitled to express his interest publicly and by doing so causing the maximum ammount of mischief possible. Unfortunately the only thing he is guilty of is a bit of sharp practice. If Hudds wanted him they would go through the proper channels, all you can do is let things develop and put your trust in the bods' and if fans stop fueling the rumours then perhaps brough's head might not turned and the whole thing might just die away.
