Understand Daggers going to York, his contract is null and void now you've been Relegated

He'd be one of the few i'd keep from this season.

That's not strictly true.

We can choose to terminate his contract because of the Super League clause, as can he, but it isn't void. They can agree terms.

York are clearly interested but part of that is for a promoted team. It remains to be seen whether they will be promoted and if not whether Dagger wants to play Championship with them instead of us. Or in fact the side actually promoted.

If he’s going to be offered a full time contract with the team who’ll be bookies favourites for the league, cup & grand final then I think he’ll stay at Wakefield

Depends if he’s in Powell’s plans. Like you say, why would you leave a team who’s potentially going to be top looking to bounce straight back.

Suppose it will also depend on the respective game time at each club.

It seems as though Whitbread and Dagger there are discussions to be had as per contracts.

Personally I would like us to retain a handful of the right players. I would be happy with the below:

Jumah Sambou
Ben Nakubawaii
Deon Cross

Would be all worth a look imo. Suppose it shows there’s plenty out there to consider.

Can’t believe Salford aren’t retaining Cross, he’s been really solid for them.

Well it’s being reported that SL funding is being reduced bu £200 thousand per club for the next season. Some clubs with limited funds by other means, will have to reduce their costs somehow. Teams such as Salford have to reduce their wages bill.

He’d be an excellent signing, especially in the championship.

There’s certainly some players out there at least. Just need the right ones to meet our expectations.
