Surely it would be top 9 next year, or is there no promotion from the championship next year? So if it is 2 x10 based on league position, it would be top 9 with 1 up and 10, 11 and 12 down.

Why?
If promotion is in place next year and it goes to 2 x 10 and it is based on the league table and not a franchise model, then it has to be 3 down.
12 teams + 1 up = 13 - 3 down = 10
Granted, depends on 2 things, promotion from the Championship and it being based on league placings. |

When given the power to do what’s necessary they will be totally ruthless in the reformation and restructuring of the game and there will be casualties.

I suspect you may be on the right track. There could be many who regret getting them involved. They will go far beyond tinkering with the league structure |

They can do what they like, thats their brief. Super League has handed over the keys of the house and left them in charge of the redecorating and what they say goes. |

This is well off subject but as we are here.
In reality, if there are 10 places in the top league, Wigan. Sts, Leeds, Warrington are guaranteed no matter what the criteria.
Probably Catalan and Hull too.
So that only leaves, 4 places.
Huddersfield are probably well placed apart from crowds
So we are competing with Hull KR, Cas, Salford, Leigh, Fev, Toulouse for 3 places.
And that's assuming they don't want a new franchise.
So just getting a good league position is not enough.
