I honestly didn’t notice him apart from when we were receiving kick offs.
He’s a big lump of a lad but something isn’t clicking with him and Trinity at the moment.

Came on for last 20/25 and I though he went okay. Didn’t put a foot wrong. Few drives, some decent tackling. I feel he needs match fitness and we will have to be patient with him.

I think we have a good chance of winning next week.
No one can say for sure either way.

| Quote Travelling Wilbury="Travelling Wilbury"It is Wilzay.
Did we believe we could win at Bradford back 2006, when they were still a force.
That squad grew self belief really quickly and had hearts, which sadly, us what some lack right now.
That break out by JD, from his own in goal area typified that. How we could do with some of that now'"
I asked if he thought we'd win. I didn't say whether I did or not.
I thought we could win but felt it was unlikely given the form.
You and Wilzay say its bad attitude but he and others are judging purely on result and I'm saying there is more to that in a game with a top 2 team when you are not in form.
We would not have lost by so many to Salford with the team we had today.

| For the players to turn up each week and give of their best … planning and scheming for a win…
I didn’t think we had a cat in hells chance against Wigan this week… and I was mightily worried about Salford the previous week!
But that didn’t stop me looking for the results with hope …
I’ve seen this club rescue itself from almost certain relegation more times than I have seen the team relegated ( I don’t count the set up of Superleague in 95 as a relegation )
And the only time I saw the team give up was in the Wally Lewis season after he went home… some great memories but the team was a mess… and that malaise continued through the following season …
We might get relegated … but there have been at least two years in SL that I have been convinced… going into the last game of the season, that we would be relegated (Warrington home and Salford away)
So I suppose the ‘nil desperandum’ as a Trinity fan is strong in me…
We have four winnable games in the next few weeks… not gimmes against easy opposition… but games we will have to fight and scrap for every inch of territory…
Then we will see what type of Trinity team this one is! (Paraphrase Professor X)

Whoever it was who absolutely clattered Bateman off the ball could be up for a discussion as well.

About time someone give him a bit if his own medicine , watched him on more than one occasion going in late in the tackle , needs to cut that grubbiness out of his game ,he’s a fine player without it .

| Obviously the game had gone after the first quarter ,but to pick themselves up off the canvas and score 22 points I thought showed commitment and spirit right to the end. Take those tries off when Lino went for a rest and the scoreline isn’t that bad considering against a well drilled Wigan team . When we managed to get onto Wigan’s line we had enough guile to get over ,the problem was getting there in the first place , think Wigan have only let more points in on 6 occasions out of 23 or so games this season , so our attack wasn’t a shambles if at times our defensive reads were . To think we had Johnstone. Tupou, lynne all sat out long term and from what I saw a near full strength Wigan squad ( leuluei apart ) I feel much more upbeat than really I ought to after yesterday. On a big plus note , great to see so many kids n parents in , the 3 new kids I brought along with the grandkids were loving getting their selfies with the players , and the scoreline didn’t have any effect on their enjoyment on the day .

| Thought Butler did OK. Ran the ball in very aggressively knocking a few of the wouldbe tacklers back and finding his front. With more game time he should do well.

| Initially, I thought we had thrown the towel in, but there were signs later in the game, that we may yet survive, although a defeat against Toulouse WILL set alarm bells ringing.
To say we had three young kids and a debutant in the three-quarter line, we didn't do badly. Hall gets better by the week as he put in some excellent tackles and ran well. Bachelor also tackled his heart out. If it's right that he's leaving, then it's a sickener and I just hope others we bring on don't follow.
Oh, Jowitt or Gaskell at FB? have to think about that one.
