Why???
They've ducked a game they would lose heavily anyway and saved players for future games and/or they've simply been unable to raise a team, thus breaking the Operational Rules.
You think you should miss a game and it not count???

It’s just a mess. Halfway through season and already some teams have played 4 less than others. That’s crazy.
Best plan would have been to reduce games this season to say 18-20 and allow a number of free weekends which would act as a Covid fixture weekend to capture re-arrangements. The teams would more or less that way all finish on the same number of games played without fixture cramming which had ruined the quality and seen a crazy injury list for this year.
They obviously couldn’t or didn’t due to the money implications so we are going to end up with a number of clubs fixture cramming and or not being able to fulfill all fixtures.
I don’t have the answer but there’s very little wiggle room been left and I’m sure it could have been handled better.
We will have to wait and see if there are any arguements over the % system come end of the year.'"
I think it’s possible that the RL World Cup May be cancelled within the next few days. Would that provide an extended time to enable all the SL clubs to complete all their fixtures, if so, then we can ditch the percentage system.

I doubt it, as the venue and play-off TV schedule is planned and booked

How do you come to that conclusion, I don’t see that remotely likely. Are you sure you have the Dunkirk spirit?

I listened to a program Monday night, it seems a decision was to be made this week to confirm or cancel the World Cup. There was a suggestion that it Could be held in Australia, as the largest number of players and staff originate from there, and with the strict Covid protocols over there, it was unlikely they would come to the U.K, as the Amount of time spent in isolation and bubbles, on returning home makes it untenable.

Yeah, I saw that but if the UK drops all restrictions this month I can't see how they could. I tend not to believe anything that emanates from the Australian media who are truly dreadful and incredibly xenophobic.
I suppose it's watching this space.

It's the restrictions on the return to the Southern Hemisphere that is the issue not coming to the U.K. Australia is on the green list at the moment., I wouldn't bet either way at the moment, the NRL clubs are really stamping their feet over this and I have a feeling we'll either have a seriously reduced competition or a 12 month delay, but we'll have to suck it and see.

| We can go to Australia but they will not let us in until 2022 I believe. I am not sure what the rules are with regards returning Australian citizens if they are allowed back or need to quarantine.

Taken from BBC sports
Organisers of the Rugby League World Cup have made "constructive progress" this week to ensure the tournament takes place in England this year.
There are issues regarding Covid regulations and quarantine rules for players and staff travelling back to Australia and New Zealand.
A decision on a possible postponement was expected this week.
We are realistic about the challenges we face," organisers said. "Our focus remains to deliver it as planned."
A statement continued: "In the interests of delivering clarity and certainty to everyone involved in staging the tournament, a final decision will be made as soon as possible.
However we have made it clear that our decision making will not be dictated by deadlines if further consideration is required."
For the first time, the men's, women's and wheelchair tournaments will take place together.
Covid regulations mean Australia's borders are currently closed, so anyone returning has to spend 14 days in government-managed quarantine.
Rugby league officials estimate around 400-500 players, staff and team officials from Australia's National Rugby League - representing several different countries at the World Cup - would have to quarantine on their return to the country after the tournament.
The cut-off point for the decision had initially been May this year but was delayed, and organisers must now commit on whether to stage the tournament in full or put it back by a year. The tournament is due to start in October.
Organisers say they have an extensive plan in place should it be delayed. Organisers say they have an extensive plan in place should it be delayed.

| One positive. If it’s delayed a year the chronically unlucky TJ may get the chance he richly deserves.
But in truth that’s the best I can do.

I’m glad you got a positive from that. I can remember another positive reaction you had earlier this year. I think it was at the time when the leaflet drop and Trinity walk screen advertising was being discussed (whatever happened to that I never heard of anyone getting a leaflet)You had a meeting/discussion with MC, about possible developments on the West Terrace. You seemed very positive then. Are you still as positive about that development, after a few months of silence. Not a dig at you,(excuse the Pun) I’m just eager to hear some positive news.

Loads on here got a leaflet, my mother got one!
No idea about Trinity Walk, probably not the timeTBH.
Whatever happens to the West terrace is directly linked to what funding we get for the redevelopment.
I can tell you that the west terrace is last in the cue, it’s an add on if we can find a way. Even if the discussed idea does gain wings id say it’s a few years off. I’ll happily let you know when I know. HTH.

Loads of people got leaflets. I'd say it was quite successful.
