The point that you [iobviously [/imissed - like the post I commented on was that he wasn't our player so it didn't matter.
And [iobviously[/i CC didnt want to keep him.
Hope that clears it up for you......

| I'm very much hoping for some news this week regarding props.
I know the money will be tighter than ever but we've lost Koppy, Brough, Navarrete (part wage), Gigot and Kirmond off the payroll.
We've added Lino and Senior (part wage). I assume Windrow is a straight swap for Gwaze and Bowes won't be much.
There has to be at least one props worth available in that lot.
Also, we can't wait forever for Battye, he's good but not that good, there comes a point when we have to say see you later.

Even more in the kitty then.
All the same, I bet we've has to lop off 10 - 20% of the wages bill for this season, which is a lot. A loan deal might be our best way forward.

Remember we have a massive drop in Sky revenue too.
So that might leaves us all square after those departures. I can't imagine MC is walking round with wads off cash waving it at prospective props right now.
I think a loan when we need it is most likely unless we get Battye.

Yep, people demanding two 'quality' props as they call them, need to grasp the reality of post-Covid and post SKY RL. If we had a Sugar Daddy we could ride the storm but we haven't so people need to be far more realistic than they appear to be. The amount of revenue the club has lost must be mind-boggling and no amount of extra lines and Trinity TV or shirts purchased will cover that.
To have assembled the team we have is a testament to good management, all we can do now is tinker and hope for better days.
All clubs bar a few will be feeling the pinch so I would imagine loan signings will become available.

| You can also add BJB and Gwaze to your list Quote vastman="vastman"I'm very much hoping for some news this week regarding props.

Couple to add to that in Atkins and BJB. Also people are forgetting George King.
Full list of ins and outs...
Ins
Lino
Senior (loan) at a guess we pay 50% wages.
Outs
Koppy
BJB
Kirmond
Brough
Atkins
Navarette (Loan)
Gigot
Gwaze
King
That’s 9 out 2 in with some leaving on what I would assume high wages in Koppy, BJB etc.
We have been by far least active but for my opinion we don’t really need to replace most of those and would benefit more in the props. There’s simply not much out there as it is.
I too hope we hear some news this week. Looking at the above there must be soon room to move and bring in some quality in the front row.
Also with the mention of impact of Covid on revenue streams. That’s true but I hazard a bet that the impact of relegation for trinity will be far more costly in terms of projected and actual income. I’d rather us use fully what we can and push the budget on players to the best we can than try and save due to potential Covid impacts which may or may not occur throughout 2021.

| We don’t need two props, one will suffice. In one if his post match interviews last season Chester specifically mentioned that he was looking at Aydin for the 5th/6th option for this coming season. So with Fifita, Arona, Green, Tangata & Aydin there are five props right there. Plus then guys who can fill in for a couple of games if need be, Tanginoa being the obvious one as much as i’d prefer to see him in the second row every week. So one decent quality recognised prop will do. If we can’t get Battye then Casty is still available, despite his age i’d take him for a year and look to refresh the front as a priority for 2022. Other than those two though non quota props look very thin on the ground.

I think that's a given, just depends how far that pot will stretch.
Personally, if the players have the right attitude and we are ok with injuries I see no excuse for the team even as it is now being in the relegation zone. It's ok people getting giddy about the signings being made by Leigh, Salford and HKR in particular but these will be virtually new teams or teams with new management. People always used to bang on about Trinity having a settled squad but now it appears that isn't good enough either. Yu can't win at times.

I can't imagine Casty would want to move to the UK at his age, Toulouse for him I suspect.
If we don't get Battye I'd rather wait and see how the season pans out and then maybe go back for Battye or get someone on loan.

| Looking at the London forum if you take what there saying as true then I can’t imagine London letting battye go at the moment as they seem to have lost a lot of props too and are pretty short in that position. I can’t imagine we’re on any position to buy out anyone’s contract either at this time so just can’t see him coming this year as much as I really like him to. But he had only 1 year left on his contract there so would deffo like to think we would be looking to have him on our books next year if we still wanted him. Closer to home and already played for us should give us the edge on other clubs.
This year though we do need another prop and would like to think that the club are actively looking, just need to find the right fit and for now that might just have to be a complete unknown. Who knows we’ve done ok in the past with these players.
This year again for me is just getting to the end of it and not relegated. Would love to find ourselves being competitive and in the upper half of the table, which our squad is capable of. This years just going to be another lash up as far as the competition goes as like last year but hopefully by the end of the year the world will be a brighter and more settled place.

| If the game starts with no scrums and the six again rule are we desperate to sign another prop before the start of the season. Most clubs seem to be on the look out but a more adaptable front row substitute will probably be adopted by most.
Its already been pointed out that we have a number of players who can fill in short term.
