| A brief summary:
MC will visit the RFL tomorrow to explain the club's short and long term plans.
They will be seeking short term dispensation with no long term plan.
MC does not know what to expect from the meeting.
The club have not been approached about selling their licence.
A redevelopment of BV is absolutely off the table.
The only way forward is Newmarket.
The only way is for WMDC to borrow the money.

| Because we are in this situation due to inaction of the council they should be doing anything they can to help us, the MPs that thought it was a good idea to support us before the election, should encourage the council to do the right thing. If there was a will there would be a way. It's time Wakefield Council and MPs put together an action plan to keep the city's only professional sports club from going like rest of professional Sport in Wakefield

He also said the club will more than pay the interest on the capital borrowed by the council to get the stadium built

Carter has said that before and it is a very honourable gesture. The only question I have over that is how is the interest paid if the club is relegated in the future? Will profit be enough to cover the interest charges?

No idea but he doesn't strike me as a ted or glover type so I suspect he has done his sums and knows he can honour it

| yep, that's the state we're in right there
the trouble with it is the relationship between the developer and box, who is in effect Wakefield Council, RW seems more and more like a peripheral pain in the $r5e rather than an enabler.
YC and WC need splitting up, we can ask WC to borrow the money to get things rolling on the back of chasing YC for what they owe, but if there isn't the will to chase on the councils behalf, they will be looking at having to fund the whole thing themselves.

As he said during the interview: Leave him to worry about the stadium problem the rest of us just support the club and staff and enjoy the rugby.

And the plan would be build it then chase the developer for the money. Yeah good luck getting them to pay up. The chances are the council would end up 10 million quid out of pocket and they know it hence they won't go for it. And given most council tax payers in the district couldn't give a monkeys whether the stadium gets built or not then they won't want to be seen to be taking the high risk.

| I'm sure if Wakefield Council were owed money they would get it!! Especially if yorkcourt wanted to do business in Wakefield. The city's MPs could do more to encourage the council, they should be reminded that fans would remember it at the next election

It's pretty obvious that if they are 'forced' to shell out £10million for a stadium then they probably aren't bothered about doing business in Wakefield. I think you'll find they'd be quickly liqudated and a new company would turn up somewhere like Leeds.
